The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

i cant seem to get any to work! could anyone point me to a guide for noobs or something? not really done much modding thanks

From a fresh install of gta. Install the 1.0.4.0 patch.

download the enb series files from http://enbdev.com/enbseries_gta4_v0081sora.zip and put into the main gta directory in program files.

download the .dll from http://enbdev.com/d3dx9_40.zip and put into the main gta directory in program files.

copy the timecycle files to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\data

copy the visualsettings files to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data

extract the shaders.zip to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\shaders

copy the remaining files (excluding folders) to C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\

Then select one of the folders for weak or powerful pcs. copy the contents to C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\

in the main gta directory one of the files you just copied will be called enbseries.ini open it and find the following lines.

ForceDisplaySize=true
ForceAntialiasing=true
DisplayWidth=1280
DisplayHeight=720
AntialiasingQuality=0

change the display size to your correct res. the AA quality goes from 2 to -1 (2 being the best performance). The machine in my sig is pretty much a slide show on 0.

Start your game - the menu may not appear properly and you'll only see the top left corner of the screen. In which case press enter or the green button on your xbox controller to continue to load your game. The screen should resize upon actually loading your game.

did all of that and the game wont start up just stays with the disk loading cursor

I had a crack with this earlier, and it didnt look anybetter as such. Was darker though?

then I moved the mouse and it crashed. Had some resolution issues with it only showing a quarter of the screen. More fiddling required.

*turned down some of the in-game settings and its working again, cant say if I like it or not*

Those GTA4 mod tips worked on my more than mediocre system...however the in-game menu has my resolution at an unchangable 2400x700 (give or take) with a small wind farm occuring in my rig.

Any way of toning it down - ini file has it set at 1280 :confused:

I tried to get ENB working with Steam version 1.0.7, but it seems it is impossible as the mod does not properly support that patch, such a shame aswell becasue the game looks stunning with it. Almost tempted to just go and buy a retail version.

This is because of the way it generates AA, i think its called super sampling - absolute killer of graphics cards.

if your AntialiasingQuality=2 then that's the minimum, other than that you can disable AA by setting ForceAntialiasing=false

i'm quite new to FRAPS and this taking lots of screenshots. I found my screenshots were actually coming out darker than the game looks when playing, so i touched them up a bit before uploading. So it may look brighter on some other people screens.

Shogun 2 Demo Screenshots.

Looks better ingame. I think fraps is gimping the quality a bit. The game will look even better on release.
