Correct, I imagine it would be beyond 60fps at all times had it not been locked to 60fps but I don't complain about games being locked at 60 (I have noticed on other gaming boards that people are RAGEing so hard about it being locked...) because 60 is just perfectly fine for this kind of game.

Some RAGE shots of my own - rig is Core2Quad, ATI4890. I think it runs damn well. Running at 1080 with 2xAA atm, may try 4xAA, but really when it is in motion you don't notice.

Even though some of the textures are very blurry in Rage, I've noticed that compared to most games, the amount of unique textures is actually staggering.

Yeah the detail is amazing. Lovely lighting and character models too. Not only that but it actually seems to run very well.

But at the same time I can understand why it runs so well, everything is very static, much like in Mirrors Edge - lighting seems prebaked and the shader effects are pretty thin. It's certainly no Crysis.

From screenshots, Rage looks like a non cell shaded borderlands.

Does it play similarly?

Borderlands is boring POS compared to Rage.

I played Borderlands for about 4 hours and had to stop, so much grind and repetitive environments, stupid level scaling, boring weapons and shooting..

Rage is amazing in comparison.

I would say Rage is similar to Bioshock with a Fallout/Boderands setting.

Its got all the atmosphere of Bioshock with the slighly better gun play

I think the game captures the 'Mad Max' side quite well. Plays well and makes you feel like your in a post apocalyptic world, also its faster and better than Stalker/Fallout games.

The racing feels very 'mad max'y with the rockets and miniguns and various cobbled together scrap cars and buggies.

I am loving the game too much to grab some screenies, but I should have took one of a crazy guy I found in the wasteland, Crazy Joe was his name.

The textures don't look too bad when in game, well, I don't really notice in, I tend to get too engrossed in RAGE.
