The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

So is project CARS available to play now?

only if you bought a toolpack before funding closed. (think kickstarter but everyone gets a return if the game makes a profit)

Theres a vote on the forum for it now asking if SMS should reduce there funding which was never intended in the first place and only happened because the community funding was going slower than expected and they needed to cover costs.

Right now the 1 year development cycle is fully funded but SMS might reducethere contribution by 500k and reopen to new investors for a weekend.

so far the votes 56% for it happening.

btw its 1 year as in 365 days spent on the game not a calender year with sleep , breaks etc

Project cars (alpha) again , I wont bother posting anymore for awhile as I'm sure people get sick of them :p

The car was a bit heavy so here is it after the level 3 upgrade to remove weight and turn it into a real racing car :P

Btw do you use any kind of FXAA injector etc?

I've seen much better screenshots on the official forums from people who obviously bothered to make an effort like this guy.

I need to play with the lighting and various other settings the games tweakit tool lets you manipulate on the fly but I'm to lazy.

The game looks awesome in motion though especially with a sunset time around bathhurst or nurburgring its almost like watching a games CGI intro or the real thing.
The games handling and physics still need to improve a lot but they are slowly getting where they need to be and theres still around a year until release so they have plenty of time.

Some Crysis, 'Very High' 2x MSAA 1080p. FPS hasn't increased a ton since swapping the FX-4100 for the 3570k, but it has completely eliminated all the microstutters and hiccups, and it now averages around 35fps, dropping as little as 28 and going as high as 50 in some areas. Probably the best £250 I've ever spent tbh. When I drop SSAO from Very High to High, It jumps up to 50-60fps. :p

Trying out the new ENB reflections. Performance hit is pretty severe and ssao will need tweaking. Hopefully will be more optimised in the next release, it can still look amazing at times, though.

Alan Wake. I have to say It's impressive how good this game looks for a port, and it runs beautifully aswell. Another developer that the likes of Bethesda/Rockstar should go and sit the **** down and take notes from. It'd be nice if it was actually @ 1200p though, I chose it in the options.

Alan Wake was superb. I didn't have high expectations of it being ported to the PC after reading some criticism on the Xbox 360 versions, so it was a huge surprise at how well the game ran/looked and the story and gameplay worked together. Definitely one of the most atmospheric and story driven games I've played in a while.:)

I thought it was overhyped/overrated before I grabbed a copy, took the plunge and got em both too. Have to agree with you completely but wow, the gameplay is really damn good too, it feels so smooth and fluid, and this is one of the few games where it's just as fun to run away and dodge the monsters as it is to fight them. :p
