The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

Yes, it's X3: Terran Conflict using the X-Tended mod. :)

Not doing a play through at the moment so was trying some mods. Also looking forward to X Rebirth, to be released soon.

I don't know if it is on the nexus, I might have got it from the SweetFx Database. I found that ENB doesn't work at all well on DA:O(though he does say that in the description to be fair). Sweetfx gave much better results.

I only asked about the texture pack, as that is the only one I am aware of really(I use it too)...I like the way he has almost gone out of his way to make it complicated! Though it is much better now. I remember when he first released it, you had to pretty much guess what to do with it(and download it in about 5 parts).

A proper HD texture pack for Origins would be amazing(there are some good armour one though iirc)...unfortunately, the game has always looked crap:(

You think DAO looks crap with mods? I think it's one of the better looking games with the texture pack alone, can't wait to try this SweetFX. DAO looks better than DA2 iirc. :p

A big problem with DA(and all Bioware games really, Mass Effect series was the same) is that it seems to actually try and highlight the awful textures...so you will get a cutscene which is a close-up of a character, and the 'camera' is sitting close-up right next to a door that looks like it was done in crayon:p

It doesn't look bad at all with mods(that texture one, Redesigned, Armour etc), but I still think it is a bit below par tbh

Wow, thats X3? The 'Map', 'Fitting' and Target Painter icon are ripped directly from Eve?

Either way, saying that it looks better than current day Eve is laughable.

Ah yeah I can agree on that, Bioware are much worse than Vigil were with Darksiders 2 for porting, yet before now I've never heard any PC gamer slate ME/DA for their bad ports (graphic wise) which is weird. Although with the right mods I think DAO looks amazing, but it's preference I guess. It's just a shame the modders don't spend time making useful things instead of stupid anime faces and naked body mods.

There are some really good mods out for DA:O. Some of the quest ones are great. Quests and Legends adds loads to the game(new campaign inside vanilla one, new weapons, abilities, classes, characters... It is phenomenal)

I didn't see that on the Nexus. Can I be cheeky and ask for a link? :D

Not been updated in a while, so probably unfinished unfortunately. Still, the last time I played it, you could build a ship and take it to Orlais and Antiva;)...not sure if he added many quests at all, there were a fair few when I played it(along with a Thieves Guild which is pretty good). There is some interesting gameplay in there as well, such as bosses where you really need to think about it and use tactics(I won't spoil it, but one boss that you need to steal something from in order to beat, things like that).
The main reason I originally used it, was because it allows you to multiclass your character;)

Damn that looks amazing, d/ling right now. The original DA lacked creativity with the bosses so this sounds fantastic, I noticed in the pictures on the Nexus that you get boarded by pirates when sailing and all sorts! Just a damn shame the new places have such ugly texture work, but graphics aren't everything eh. ;)

Everyone is right, it seems. :D

As I am also using an X-Tended add-on that uses some content from EVE.

I wouldn't say either is better or worse looking, personally. X has some great mods and then you have to consider how long X has been around for. They both have their strong points, though many will argue that X has been around for much longer and, if anything, EVE is very similar to X.

I like both and in fact appreciate the visual similarities and instead prefer to differentiate them on the basis of EVE being an MMO.

I've found the new Tomb Raider game a big let down tbh, probably won't bother finishing it. However, it did prompt me to dig out the original and get it running in DOSbox with glide support + PS1 music + Xpadder control pad. Won't offend anyone's eyes but she's still beautiful to me ;)

More Crysis 2, definitely much more beautiful than when I played through on XBOX...

I love planting C4 on the heavies in cloak, then decloaking long enough for them so see me then BOOM!!

DSG 1 + rifle/reflex scope is fun

In regard to EvE vs X. Sure X has been around longer But TC was released in 2008. where as eve was released in 2003.

I certainly think eve has far superior visuals. However I love the X games. Really great games!

Very much a single player interpretation of EvE. A lot of people say X should be an online game. But that slaps it into competition with eve. Somewhere it would fail (because its not got a 10 year old world development)

Both great games, plenty of similarities. But worlds apart too.

Cant wait for rebirth, cant wait for odyssey.

I wouldn't claim that eve has 10 yr. old world development, as for years they added fluff which did nothing to further their environment. I am not sure when I started building outposts in Eve but that was when they properly started adding actual content, prior to that it was very much player versus player with minimal ability to take or do anything. A few capturable stations prior to it. Since then they have come on in leaps and bounds, with the wormholes and anomaly sharding process to try to minimise their server corruption and strain.
Some of the processes involved in x3 would still be very welcome in eve, and some of the player built scripts even more so, for actual improvement to gameplay and management.
The fleet management took them many years to attempt let alone perfect.

Anyway, played both, used to love Eve, got bored with it after I built multiple outposts and had them taken away but people who had simply a bigger fleet and more folks off work to sit on them all day. Eventually drifted away from the game. Enjoyed the x series all along. Hoping rebirth isn't that dumbed down, and provides good gaming.
