Playing through this again on Steam this time, a few mods and ini tweaks. Nothing to change the games lighting as I prefer the vanilla look. Running at 4k using Nvidia DSR factors on a 1440p monitor. Everything max and boosted via mods/ini tweaks naturally.
This is my all time favourite game each time I launch it, I get absolutely lost in this world. It really is the perfect game for me.
However, I usually only like using vignette (darker corners blending in) or other singular subtle effects and the additional logo when taking photos. I also have the in-game DOF set to exactly 50% for what I think is a perfect blended overall effect, while the default in-game DOF setting has it turned off.
It really doesn't look that different from the images while in game, and even better in motion.
Third image from above, while in-game with lower DOF levels.
Messing around with RTGI in The Witcher 3. Great thing about adding GI is it helps a lot if your display can tone-map a fake hdr as well. It actually puts it above (in that respect) even games with great HDR implementations but weak lighting, eg Gears 5.
