***The High-Res Screenshot Thread!***

Someone did exactly that on [H] claiming that ray ray tracing added nothing. The Digital Foundry video was pointed out where DF do a deep dive into all the things RT adds in the game. Yep that person was a Radeon user :p

Surprise surprise! Watch how their opinions change as soon as RDNA 3 comes out with good RT perf. :p ;)

It definitely does make a difference, the game does look better with RT on (6900Xt user) but the performance hit is just too much for me, average around 30-50fps, but I'm yet to try RT with FSR enabled so may give that a go.

Although with the 6900xt I am able to run all the texture packs so there's that lol.

The screenshots are stunning though mrk :)

Yep DLSS or something like DLSS is def needed. I turned it off to test out of curiosity on the 3080 Ti and it highlighted to me just how powerful the card is over my previous 2070 Super which in itself is no slouch.

On the 2070 Super I was getting 60fps at 2560x1080 with RTX on Ultra and RT Lighting on Ultra but with DLSS on Balanced. If I switched the resolution to 3440x1440 that's where the VRAM limitation kicked in and I was seeing 19fps; If I turned DLSS off it was single digits lol.

On the 3080 Ti at 3440x1440 turning off DLSS, the fps is around 44-46. Playable to some degree for some people I guess but not for me whereas with DLSS on and set to Balanced the frames at minimum 60fps. DLSS on Quality drops about 9fps but I prefer 60 lowest so Balanced is where it stays.

Time for a replay with mods I think!

These were some of my screenshots and just vanilla game with RTX, the detail in characters is what does it for me.

It's amazing how much of a natural feel difference something as simple as reflections and shadow casting makes. Still boggles the mind

I wonder if we could maybe find a scene guys where we could see the performance difference between your 3080ti and the 6900xt with RT on, although I'm @1440p so may prove difficult.
I'm running every on ultra apart from film grain and CA are off, no motion blur either.

I can run the game at 2560x1440 as well as my monitor will just scale it to that aspect ratio. I'll fire it up in a moment and report back.

Edit*
Just realised that it would be an unfair comparison due to the sheer number of variables lol, NPC density at the time, traffic volume, the various mods installed etc etc.

I'll try finding somewhere which has some RT action but less variables, badlands etc would work i think at night,
I know the 3080Ti for sure will beat the 6900XT, i'm just interested in seeing by what amount (roughly) and if the image quality is any different with graphics in both instances set as high as possible.

Yep go for it, find a location and suitable time of day and I'll get over there and do the same!

Halo on Legendary with a mate. Love messing around and trying to get the vehicles into every possible nook and cranny. :D

Mrk, found a place that may work.
Here's where it is on the map

F2IMorJ.jpg

It's by the docks looking into a few shops, not a lot of people but at sundown gets hit with some decent lighting, reflections etc.
You can see in my images how i've positioned myself about a meter back from the bollard with my crosshairs on the jacket hanging up, i used photo mode to get the screenshots, just tab to remove the HUD and then use Geforce Experience to take a shot, it's still rendering the scene completely in photo mode so makes zero difference to FPS but helps clear up the images from comparison.

Settings
Ultra everything, no chromatic aberration, no film grain. FOV 85. 1440P

STOCK ULTRA NO RT (98FPS)
E5FGlcQ.jpg

STOCK ULTRA WITH RT AT ULTRA (36FPS)
DoHPig4.jpg

You can see how much darker the shadows are with RT on, most noticeable on the piping overhead and the underside of the two ramps in front, visually it makes a big difference overall to the tone, strangely, while my FPS on Ultra with Ultra RT where crap, if i disabled Ray tracing lighting, but keep shadows and reflections on, my FPS jumped to 76fps and the scene didn't change in the slightest.

I do think that if we could use Fidelity on FSR while using RT, the FPS wouldn't be far off the 3080s numbers.

I could not get the sun to be in the position behind me like in yours during dusk or any other time of day so looks like the game change sun position or something? Both with and without the climate mods and stuff!

Anyways I did do a comparison in that area with those same settings:

No RT: 87fps
stock-ultra_no_RT.jpg

With Ultra RT: 55fps
stock-ultra_with_RT.jpg

With Ultra RT + DLSS (Balanced): 83fps
stock-ultra_with_RT-DLSS-Balanced.jpg

Granted the sun position doesn't give the same light as in yours though.

Some new screens from this area at night because it looks superb :D These are with my normal settings back, SSR on Psycho, RT Lighting on Psycho, 95 FOV 3440x1440.

I am locking the game to 60fps as the frames jumping between the mid 80s down to 70 then to 65 etc depending on scene makes the smoothness feel weird but locked 60fps is really perfect and smooth.

Messing with a redux mod (and got other mods on including texture ones), not sure I like the redux mod yet.... definitely looks less washed out but maybe a bit too harsh with the reds/neon colours imo, just some random comparisons, fps hit is about 4-5 fps:

RT psycho is nice but think I rather have RT lighting set to medium and use dlss quality for a sharper image at 1440p

Could there be a subforum for Cyberpunk screenshots or have them in the Cyberpunk thread?
They're nice and all but I feel almost everything in this thread is Cyberpunk oriented

Cyberpunk lyf tho!

Raytracing adds quite a bit, I would suggest watching the DF video again where they go over with and without RT and explain what every aspect is. It might not be immediately obvious until you understand what RT is doing and then you notice them as it's more natural with it on.

At the expense of frames that is until you turn on DLSS.

The shadows look quite bland without it.

You know what is great about these shots, imagine it was Tron Legacy. The first shot is giving me Olivia Wilde vibes in the real world. Love the vehicle meet up part. Reminds me of California.

The second car picture reminds me when Sam has just entered the grid and runs into the Recognizer with them all in the street.

The photo realism is often astonishing in this game, I won't post too many but just this one more lol. Look at that clear sheet the way it distorts naturally what's behind.
