The I'm getting bored of BF3 thread

yup stopped playing begining of this month, unlocked most stuff and found myself playing just for the sake of it rather than playing coz i was enjoying it

Ive played every bf game to date and i became bored of bf3 far sooner than any of the others

Still playing here, but not over-playing if that makes sense.

To the BF2 lovers, could it just be that you were at a stage in your life (and gaming life) where it was the "right time" for a game like BF2 to dominate?

The market has changed a lot since then but for what its worth, I think in BF3 more than any other game I have played, having a good squad and teamwork are transformative - and can make the battles epic when 2 good teams duke it out. Pubs can be too random and that is an issue with long-term enjoyment.

There is a massive patch coming soon, I hope they bring VOIP for squads. I'll never get bored of BF3, the sound in game is just too bad ass, if you ever get really bored just go onto a metro grind fest sooo much fun.

I will agree that metro is one of the more fun maps to play, I've had some quite funny sessions with that map.

Let down definitely sums it up.

Was really looking forward to it and expecting to be playing for years. Already uninstalled lol.

I fancy reinstalling 2142..

Squad auto join, remove faglight, additional path on metro and remove the omglazors blindage would be the easiest fixes to make.

I am a bit bored tbh. I used to play well into the night but now I find myself reading forums or playing Metro for the visuals :)

It is still good to play as a clan/squad though

Must admit its been my least played BF game in all the series. Its mainly due to me having the PS3 version where the mics dont work right, making it very boring not chatting to friends compaired to other BFs.

edit: as for BC2 it was just fun for me and team work really played out with the map set up.

I got bored of this quite quickly. It was apparent how it was a console port with the controls and mainly no commander. Back to SC2!

I'm going to uninstall BF3 and get BC2 going again. Much more fun for me. Even the most interesting BF3 games are just too damned complicated.

I think one of the main issues is Squad Captains. If you're not the captain then you're at the mercy of a player who might well not care. That can't be right. I know why they did it but the reality is that the playerbase is just not mature enough yet. Not in most pubs anyway. In BC2 most people know what they're doing by now so even a relatively inexperienced player can make a few squad calls and get things moving nicely. There seems to be a lot more shared responsibilities and actions in BC2 as a result.

There's also the added thing that most of the players in BF3 are still farming their way to the juicy weapons. In BC2 that's long gone and most players now just want to play well and win, which is the whole point of the game.

I have to say I'm generally very disappointed with BF3. I might jump back into it in a few months and see how things have changed.

What's better about BC2? Genuine question, I never played BC2 online really.
Less buggy than bf3, though bc2 had a few niggles as well. Options screens are a lot better, great squad and loadout/class menu system. Better hit reg, bf3's is the worst ive ever seen in an fps game.

One of the main things for me is simply being able to switch servers while keeping the game running... it's so incredibly counter-intuitive to have to close and re-open the game every time you need to go through battlebog to get things going...

I've given up online shooters for the foreseeable future.

BF3 was a nightmare for me to get working and when it did work it wasn't a game I was happy playing. The same goes for MW3, I've just got bored of online shooters.

I do still play TF2, but that's not really online shooter in the same vein as the other two I mentioned.

Just single player and co op games for me now.
