I suspect there's an element of 'what if they're racist?' so it's much easier to just not engage rather than do so and have the possibility. When the popularity of UKIP and Reform these days I'm not surprised they choose to avoid the potential situation entirely.

How often do people really talk about religion and culture in small talk... surely most young people are watching the same stuff on youtube , the same movies etc

The interesting thing is with Muslims is they have become more religious in the recent generations.

No Muslim I knew used to pray in the afternoon. I think in Islam it says to pray 5 times a day. These days they do.

I asked 5Pillars why. But they didn't reply. I'm not against it, or Islam. But they seem to be moving closer to their religion than integrate.

I can understand why though, as a lot of people are turning to Christianity, probably for the same reasons.

Well, I received a notification from Yodel earlier that it's scheduled for delivery tonight between 8-10pm!

We shall see if it materialises, or if there turns out to be nobody home.

Fair play if they do actually deliver that late on Christmas eve, might have to find a box of chocolates or something for the driver!

Wahey, they did actually turn up, and in decent condition too

We have a hat trick this week!

First off, I ordered a mattress on Sunday, was originally going to have it delivered for free to store to collect on the 10th, but the girl on the phone told me it would be quicker to have delivered to home (their website advises 3-5 days for delivery), so I paid £12.50 for delivery.

I got the despatch email 25 minutes ago... Safe to say it's not going to be here within those 3-5 days!

When I phoned their support line they couldn't be less interested, so I'm tempted to cancel the order and refuse delivery...

Secondly, we took a parcel in from the postie for "next door". Except it was for a completely different postcode/road name/house number. Luckily only a few roads down so I've just dropped it off for them.

Thirdly, my internet has been down for 3 days now, while my ISP have been keeping me updated, it sounds like Openreach don't have a clue

Ikea (ick ear)

Not sure if similar to other stores across the UK, but.

Due to commitments I did a 100mile round trip today to an Ikea because their stocking system is broken and the grey slide out trays X4 for my trainers was finally in stock, but they will not deliver.
So ordered the 4 and another Malm 6 draw unit to go with the rest of the bedroom furniture and after 3 hours sleep since 1pm the day before get to Ikea to be told "sorry" we told you 6 in stock, but our manager (who had already gone home at 12pm) is a **** and invents stock to get customers in.
Then is informed that the last 2 grey slide out draws will be posted to me for free ******* what the **** 100 miles because you will not post and now you will.

Having done a complete new install for the bedroom I can only recommend if anyone else is planning to use Ick Ear, then be patient, learn to realise one will be in stock, one will not and when you can go and collect, the other will be out of stock.

Please tell me this is limited to just one store??

Sometimes it's staff manipulating the system to allow them to tick a box, other times is anyone's guess. Frequently see that behaviour with couriers. I know Screwfix/B&Q operate a whatever stock system on some products.
