The Indoor Riding/ Zwift/ TrainerRoad etc. Thread

Anyone that doesn't have a pc/laptop, zwift has been released on iOS this morning. Finally I can't get on Zwift with my kinetic inride

Literally just seen this. Might be tempted to give it a try now. Do need to sort wifi signal in the garage or just extend a Cat 5 out there...

Urgh, not ridden since Monday. Did an hour on Zwift but my legs felt like ****.

Got going with a ZTR B guy which helped the time go a bit quicker.

I must agree I'm a big fan of Zwift now. It does help make the training go that bit quicker and with others around you it can help push you. the down side it does not help with the pain :(

Had my first session on zwift on iOS and quite enjoyed it. As said already, it makes sitting on a turbo far more bearable. The app was flawless and everything connected as it should.

Kept an eye on the power on the kinetic inride and it read about <10w higher than the quarq pm so not too bad.

On a side note, I need to get a fan. The trainer mat had a puddle of sweat on it gross

I did the US Sunday spin.

Almost like an hour FTP test! I'm obviously losing fitness, but it was good, hung on to the last 5km when an A group broke away, but I stayed with some B grade guys to the finish.

The Zwift draft can be a pain when you reach slower riders, you end up "attaching" to them when they are doing say 2w/kg, your groups doing 3.5w/kg but you stick to the slower rider for a little bit and have to do 4w/kg or more to break free. This can open up a bit of a gap to the bunch and kill you off when you're already at your limit!

Did 40min last night and christ I genuinely nearly puked. I was pushing hard and legs felt strong (aside from this morning my knee hurting) and I was smashing some climbs... then my lungs gave up on me and maxed out at 185bpm HR and nearly choked on air from my fan blasting me :D tragic.
Span about about ~2-2.5w/kg until I got rid of my stitch and didn't think I was going to die, just in time for the reserve bridge sprint, which I smashed, got the green jersey and hit 1150W. Then nearly puked again.

All in all, td;dr nearly puked.

Normally not one to blow my own trumpet, but I've just finished this evenings session on Zwift and at long last I have finally completed the Mt. Everest Challenge and unlocked the Concept Bike :D

The whole challenge seems to have taken forever.

Boooo. I'm 39% of the way through. Finished California, but now just need to try and plough through that one :(

Keep going! It seemed to take ages to get anywhere on it and then all of a sudden I found my self at 90% done and it seemed to rattle through then. I'm a bit tired of going up that mountain though. I will be glad of the change of scene.

Interested in how you find it, I had loads of trouble with Android so totally gave up (after 3 new pods). FT has problems with Android but many of the iOS people I've read about online don't see to have problems. Ideally I want to hear from an Android phone user who had problems, yet now with the release on iOS uses an iPad and doesn't have problems... But have yet to spot one!

CAT5 to Macbook/Powerbook? Not sure if Zwift works as all I've heard is people using it on iPads without issue (& obviously no ethernet connection, just Wifi).

Also spotted this! Damn annoying! Especially if you're doing a good little 2/3/4UP with some guys rolling turns, smashing past others, yet randomly have to close gaps from the draft picking up the randoms you're passing, not the guys you're holding the wheels of. If you're not rolling turns the draft seems to 'stick' much better to the rider you're drafting.

Congrats on the Tron bike! Jealous! How long did it take? Did you just concentrate on always choosing hilly/mountain routes when doing other training or concentrate a couple of rides a week to elevation gain?

Only 5s faster than me!

You're in the top 900 at 40s, I'm outside the top 9000 at 45s lol

I did a couple of laps of the London loop last night, I like the Box Hill climb length, long enough so you don't just power over it and get a bit more of a rhythm going.

Has anyone completed the specialised 50km challenge? I have clicked to enter, but then don't get a progress bar when I am riding (I haven't ridden 50km to see).
