The Intel Arc owners thread

The little A380 I got seems alright, feels like a 1650 to me basically. Its very quiet, cant hear it and its small enough.

Performance not great as expected, but to be fair my motherboard doesnt have the resizable bar setting. Ill try a BIOS update later.

Yeah I tried that, no joy. I hoped it would open some extra settings but I think the mobo is just too cheap :)
What you come from and what res you gaming at chap?

There's part of me wanting one of these on the off chance that a driver comes out and they hit 3080 levels of performance. The raw card seems to have enough horsies they're just broken horsies that dribble a little and walk sideways.

Nothing mate, i was just trying the little A380, not really for gaming. Was in my spare/office PC. The wee A380 is more of a 6500xt rival than the more expensive A750/A770

Oh sorry my bad, numbers everywhere atm losing track of everything!

Seems like a good buy for that sort of setup where you don't want onboard.

I find it amusing OcUK don't even list the Intel cards as a vendor on the navigation. They're there if you drill down though.

I'm not sure what has happened: my i7-8700 system will now not POST with REBAR enabled. It's a Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming with the F16B BIOS that enables REBAR support.

I've had an evening of fun playing Far Cry (the original). 4k, max settings, DX9. The translation layer seems to be working well.

Then I tried to benchmark Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Just got a black screen. The benchmark was running and I could hear the sounds and the framerate was shown but the screen was black. The game menus worked fine.

Arc owners your DX9 performance driver is here.

It took less time than I expected; Intel says the new drivers improve performance in DX9 games like counter strike global offensive by around 80% in average framerate and 140% in minimum frame rate.

The performance improvement is because the newest Arc driver now has native DirectX 9 API support, it's no longer doing API emulation

Nice, looks like it applies to the IGPs too.
