***The iOS 5 Thread***

Well, after almost a days 'normal' use I have to say I really like it. The little tweaks to the UI/Fonts & menu toggle switches look really nice, notification centre is excellent. And it feels very smooth and refined to use.

I've only come across one app with an issue so far and that is the Times app for the iPad which crashes on start and never actually loads, but not worth crying over seen as the OS hasn't been released yet, although I'd have though that especially major apps like that would have been tested/updated by now.

Here is a screen grab of the log in for the control panel on a mac for iCloud.

Jailbreak is only tethered for iOS5 for now, give it a week, once the official 5.0 is released and there should be 2 or 3 different ways to jailbreak untethered

in iMessage, how do you know if you are sending media to an iPhone user, or none iPhone user in order to avoid MMS charges?

This is a very good question.

I thought iMessage ..err.. messages, always got sent through data connections kinda like email so shouldn't cost anything?

Yep this should be the answer.

How u iMessage?

It's built into the message system. If they are using iOS 5 and it detects it, it sends it as a message using your data connection not through SMS.
