The Kids Breakfast Challenge

A mate, sent me this on Facebook over the weeked.

There Cafe in Great Yarmouth apparently has a dish called "The Kids Breakfast" which weighs the same as a small child (10lbs). It costs £15 and if you can eat it in 60 mins or less you get it for free....

I could give it all a good go, but the toast with kill me off.

The Kidz Breakfast at Jesters Diner in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, includes 12 rashers of bacon, 12 sausages and six eggs and weighs on average 9lb - 1lb 5oz more than the average newborn baby.

Health experts are demanding its removal from the menu and are warning someone with a heart condition could die if they eat it, with each helping amounting to at least 6,000 calories, up to three days' food intake for an average person.

Not necessarily. It's probably a loss leader. Think of the publicity they'll be getting just by having it on the menu.

There's nothing which costs any money. All the igredients are dirt cheap.
The most expensive is the sausages and bacon and when do you ever get good qaulity those at a cafe.

Looks like most of it is toast, chips, an omelet (I think that is what the middle is?). Not that much meat in it.

It includes a (speeded-up) video of 3 men attempting it - one kidz breakfast between all three of them. It looks like they manage about half of it.

Marios Cafe (Bolton) does a similar one.

have you got a beefeater resaurant near you? they do an all you can eat brekkie for £7.99 and kids eat free with every paying adult
weve got one just down the road.. ive not tried it yet so cant comment on quality but maybe soon.. i think it will be best to go after an 'all nighter'

ahh, ive just read that its not only beefeater that does it, brewers fayre and table-table do it as well but either chain must be located at a premier inn site.. seems that the offer its actually from premier inn..

i phoned my local one (beefeater) and they said its ok to walk in off the street 06:30-10:30, and she confirmed that its £7.99 all you can eat and for every paying adult 1 kid under 16 eats free
(they do an offer of 2 kids eat free with every 1 paying adult but thats for hotel residents only)

Yes that is a lot of meat for 1 person. I should have been clearer. I was talking about as a % of the whole thing and how that effects cost.

I'd never be able to eat anywhere near all of that, but it would be cool for you and a couple of mates to sit round a table and lay into it like animals

Not bothered about the Lorn Sausage, but would have prefered lots Tattie Scones to the cheese and potato omelette
