The Killers - Sam's Town

Bit harsh mate, nowt wrong with being a snappy dresser with a sense of identity, and after creating an album as great as Hot Fuss I think he has some right to be cocky, just not that much

I seem to remember an interview where he admitted that the music came second to the appearance. That's the antithesis of musicical integrity in my opinion and I'm not even a scarf-wearing, beret-sporting, hiprecordstorefrequenting music snob.

Hmm, not really sure where i'm going here...

They've started to look like Stillwater in Almost Famous if you ask me.

If you honestly think Muse fit into the 'indie genre' then you seriously need to re-assess your musical-genre-choosing-skills.

what exactly would you call them then? i'd say they were pretty indie. and i think he was referring to the fact that their new album blows. as does razorlight's. not listened to the Killers new one, but i hated Hot Fuss, so i won't bother.

muse arnt indie at all, you do need to re-asses your music-genre-choosing-skills, muse are rock, but different, not indie. also he didnt say best album in 20 years he sed if you look back on it in 20 years it will be one of the greats. which we obviously cant tell yet whether it will be in 20 years.

in my opinion its a great album because i love the killers but on a general note im not sure whether it will be remembered as a great. hope it will tho =]

I don't think anyone can pin a category that Muse completely fit into. But in my opinion if Nirvana and Radiohead had sex, Muse would have been born.

I read that, i'm now not going to read the rest of your post.

And before you call me a fanboy or something, yes their new album isn't as good as their others, mainly OOS.

What's with jumping on someone just because you disagree what genre a band fit in?

Who gives two *****?! I think Muse are ok for what they are, not too bothered about genres and stuff.

Better than Absolution and Showbiz, imo. Showbiz has some great tracks but also some rubbish. BHAR seems to be a lot more consistent. Nothing on OoS though.

Love you.

I liked the album, not as good as Hot Fuss but I didn't expect it to be.
Argh the Muse talk, they're boring and bad : (, I don't enter a Muse thread because of this, now they're badness is spreading :(.

read my mind, and for reasons unknown are class songs

Agreed totally. Worth getting the album for these tracks alone, although there's a couple of tracks following these two that I just dont get yet. Mainly due to the horrific rhyming, they'll probably grow on me though :)

They should do. It's taken me MANY listens to appreciate the album and now I love it.

I've listened to this album all the way through a couple of times now and i'm gonna stick my neck out and say its better than Hot Fuss, it really is.

Its a fantastic album

Has anyone else now realised how freaking awsome this album actually is.

Can't get enough of it.
Yah, I agree. Just needed to listen to it a couple of times but now I reckon its a damn good piece of work.

also, there's a track 14 - All The Pretty Face

on cerain special edition releases, the one i bought only had the 13 on it...

I have to say, "Where the white boys dance" is probably the worst song I've heard from the Killers, why it's on the album I'll never know..

It's the only song I've actually noticed while listening to the album a few times whilst doing other things on the pc. Probably because it sounds like it belongs on hot fuss as it's got some life to it. The rest is just unnoticable, not bad but just not very interesting.
