Probably not, but it's better than nothing I can usually tell in the 1st 5 minutes if I'm going to like a game The game offers multiple solutions for each problem you are facing. That's a huge part of the game. Not strong enough to take on that camp of baddies? You could poison them, push some off a cliff etc. It's mad how much depth there is.Would a couple of hours be enough of a taster for a game this deep though?
Sounds good, not in a rush so will pick it up at some point - still have a backlog of games to get throughProbably not, but it's better than nothing I can usually tell in the 1st 5 minutes if I'm going to like a game The game offers multiple solutions for each problem you are facing. Believe the hype. I'd never played a D&D style game before yet I'm 32 hours in and absolutely loving it.That good huh? So most of the reviews weren't lying.
Would you still recommend playing it even for someone not into the genre?
Hmm, I played some of the Walking Dead games form Taletale and quite enjoyed them but this was never on my radar.Tales from the borderlands 9/10
Probably the best telltale game
New Tales from the borderlands 6/10
Not a patch on the original; story was meh but absolutly georgeous and enjoyed it despite it's flaws
Nice review mate and seems to echo what most of the reviews have said about the game.Days Gone: 7/10
Darnit - this one really had potential but bungles the finale and left me feeling pretty disappointed overall - the game gives the impression of your choices having an impact, but it's just some alternate cut-scenes and what you do doesn't matter in the slightest - the journey is a lot of fun but the destination is entirely meh.
Technically the game is great - a few minor mission bugs and the occasional t-pose but it runs well enough and looks great for a PS4 game ported to PC. The gunplay is excellent as is the variety of weapons and (mechanically) it's one of the better third-person shooters I've played recently - better than The Last of Us and better than Dead Space. The only real issue I had was that there's so many options for ammo-types that selecting them can be a bit clumsy and I often found myself accidentally selecting the wrong ammo.
Riding around on your bike is great fun - whilst it's a bit fragile and quite the guzzler at the beginning of the game, you get access to a lot of upgrades that offer meaningful improvements (as well as some great cosmetic ones too) - it always feels great riding around a post-apocalyptic Oregon and the weather and scenery change just enough to keep things interesting even though you'll be travelling the same roads a lot - there's a fast travel system too if you just want to get somewhere in a hurry.
The zombies (Freakers) are always a threat - particularly in large numbers and getting chased down by a horde is always terrifying - there's also a decent variety of human enemies that you encounter quite frequently.
Overall, I liked this - it's never bad - and in places it's exceptional but it's a long game (I played it for 50-ish hours) and for me, the payoff wasn't entirely worth it.
Act 3 does feel slightly let down. I know all games cut content, but at some times feels they have cut some area's very hard. Like seriously, so many companions just want to shack up, even if you said no earlier,
