The Last of Us Part II

Can we avoid spoilers? I didn't look at any leaked content and I damned sure don't want to read about the game before I play it, even if some of you have apparently decided already that it's "woke garbage"

95 on metacritic after 57 reviews apparently.

Sony putting restrictions on what can and can't be reviewed when giving reviews, not unheard of but extremely rare.
Fair, balanced and no spoiler review here - https://youtu.be/GB20A8CitRU - "If anyone is gonna like or dislike this game, it's probably going to be based off of the 12 or so hours of game that I'm not allowed to show in this video"

Edit - balanced not unbalanced, silly boy

Just watched that review and I must say, it sounds like he's presenting a very thought out, considered view on the game. Obviously I haven't played it, but my gut tells me that when i do (i'll wait for a sale..), I may very well agree...especially as I basically got it spoiled for me a few weeks back.

Most reviews are scoring it very highly so that's enough for me but I feel sorry for the people that decided they wouldn't be buying it earlier in the thread.

Edit: Where's the cheapest place to buy from? Everywhere's out of stock or £49.99.

Smaller reviewers like Skillup seem a bit more honest about it. Not my favourite reviewer but absolutely someone I'll trust over IGN and the lot. I've watched IGN's review and it's the usual empty phrases with very litte detail about the actual game. His review was at least articulate.

I'm really not sorry I'm not getting it at release, I'll wait for people here to actually play the game and then post their opinions, until that there's nothing to be sorry about.

IGN review has VERY LITTLE spoilers, IMO.

I read the Japanese IGN review (as they had a massive disparity in score compared to the main IGN site 70 vs 100) and there were little if any spoilers in that. Not sure why they scored it so low they seemed to like it.

The cynical side of me says that reviewers would be too scared to mark it down anyway because of the 'woke' stuff lest they get branded as anti <whatever>.

One of the reviewers said that Sony have forbidden any mention of the last 12 hours of the game and reviews can only be based on the first half. It was part of the agreement to reviewing early. No idea if true but will see what smaller reviewers say.

Deal on currys with code for £44. Check hotukdeals. Depends if you're bothered about playing it on release day as they send "standard delivery".

The only place I've seen any spoilers or hints towards content, tone etc are on here, which rather contradicts the "it's everywhere now" line spouted by the mods.

I'll await user reviews because at this point with all that has gone on reviewers are probably too scared to criticise any aspect of the story for fear of being called homophobic and having frothing hordes on Twitter demanding for them to be sacked etc. If you want truth it's probably best to listen to those who won't have their lives ruined for telling it.
