The Last of Us Part II

A part 3 isn’t ruled out indefinitely it’s ruled out for now.

I think both part 1/2 are 10/10 myself. I would quite happily leave it there though and I said same with first one. The endings were great and we don’t need anything else

As we all know though that’s not how big bosses will think they will think with money eyes
 
Yeah, I think I feel the same as a few others here in that I actually felt the game didn't need a sequel after the first. But then I loved part 2 (probably helped that mechanically it was top tier, and it absolutely got everything it could out of the PS4) and felt the same at the end where it didn't need a part 3!

I definitely think part 1 is my favourite, I've never replayed part 2 whereas I've played part 1 on PS4, PS5 and on PC.
 
I think part 2 not selling well didn't help. Leaks suggest ~10mn copies less than the original despite all the inherited hype and fanfare behind it.

Its unfortunate beceuase from a technical standpoint, the game was really good. Graphics, world design, gore but the story just couldn't flow like the original and it proved too much of a let down for the masses.
 
While the second game was beautiful and played well, the story was poorly written nonsense imo.

Should have been a one and done, or at least if they made a sequel a few decades time skip with the OG casts grandkids, or an indirect storyline to the first would have been a better way to explore the world.

Glad it's not just me thinking this at times I was like "surely this is the end" to then find another 5 hours worth of play through switching perspectives and characters.

Contrary to most I was somewhat happy with the ending but as like most of you have said the first one set the bar really high and like most things these days fail to deliver.
 
Thought both were superb however I played them in reasonably quick succession, many years after release dates. I also didn’t see any of the online noise about Pt2 - also don't agree with any of it. I did feel like 2 went for a bit longer than it could have, I was emotionally and physically drained by the end of it and there aren't many games have done that to me. For me I think only the GTA series is better.
 
They are part 1 and part 2 of the same story, not really standalone games, all the character development in 1 sets up the narrative in 2. Both great.

I played 2 again recently and it's still a 10/10 game, pacing felt better second time and just stays on the right side of not being too long. So many great set pieces and awesome world design.

I would happily leave that storyline there though. Wouldn't mind a Lev and/or Abby sequel that leaves the Joel/Ellie narrative behind.
