The Last Of Us

Finished now. I skipped the gameplay section, didn't want to spoil it. Seemed like a decent event though.

Apparently Game have yet another exclusive edition of the game available for pre-order tomorrow. Bah.

I don't like them as a company, but they're making it really hard for me not to cancel my standard edition and go with them. Maybe I'll switch to Tesco after all...

My guess is, it'll either be the Joel Edition (because they ran out of Ellie stock a week or two ago) or the super-expensive edition that the US is getting with the Joel & Ellie statue.

Actually it's probably the latter, pretty-sure in the video they said it was exclusive to Game.

Same. If the Joel one hadn't been £40, I'd have probably gone for the regular version anyway.

I'd have pre-ordered the Joel Edition if I hadn't had a bad experience with Tesco in the past, I didn't even consider pre-ordering from GAME which makes it a bit of a shame that they're the only place you can get the Ellie Edition from. I wish there was just the standard edition but in a steelbook, I LOVE steelbook cases! :D

Looks like it's on their site now, it's not the Collector's Edition, it's the regular version of the game but also comes with the Survival Pack in-game extras. And a poster.

Finally decided to pre-order this, it looks pretty epic and if it's anywhere near as good as naughty dogs previous efforts it should be awesome! :D

What, you don't know anyone who might want a TLoU poster?

...Nobody at all?

:p

Heh :D

A nice interview with Neil and Ashley from yesterday's event:

Interesting vid, I can't agree with that guy who posted saying Ellie sounds like a much older woman, she has a high pitched voice and if you didn't know any better you'd think it was a teenager, they nailed it with the voice cast thus far imo.

Very excited about this game.

Was never a fan of the uncharted series... Don't ask me why because I've never played it lol... It's just never floated my boat.

Last of us just seems to have that x factor. Getting on day one

Game in Cribbs Causeway doing a 'Last of Us Lock-in' tonight at 1800, dunno exactly what that entails but just noticed the poster.

Edit:
Store Event - GAME and SONY The Last of Us Lock In!
We've teamed up with our friends at SONY for our biggest Lock-In yet, giving you a chance to get your hands on The Last of Us before anyone else!

75 GAME stores in England, Scotland and Wales will be staying open late to let you play Naughty Dog's new survival thriller ahead of its release on 14th June. The gameplay you can experience at the GAME Lock-In will be different to the demo due to go live for God of War: Ascension owners on PlayStation Network at the end of May, and the first time this has been available to gamers in the UK, so this really will be a fantastic event!

There will be plenty of PlayStation 3 pods to play, as well as pizza and drinks to enjoy, and the chance to chat with other gamers in your area. Plus, everyone who preorders a copy of the game (or who already has) will get to take home a special double-sided The Last of Us poster!

Entry is restricted to those aged 18 or over, and spaces will also be limited. To make sure you don’t miss out, register your place by popping into your nearest store, giving them a call or sending them a tweet!

I don't really like Game as a company, I think they're a pretty crappy games retailer for the most part (in an EA-style "We're just here for the money" sort of thing). That being said, when they get behind a game to help promote and market it, they do a pretty damn good job of it.

In any case, I think I'm going to start reducing what I see of this game now. Interviews etc are all fine and I'm intrigued to see what the multiplayer element will be like, but I've seen enough gameplay and story for me to know it'll be excellent and varied, I don't need to see more. ND seem to be doing themselves a slight disservice by showing off so much of the game.

On exactly the same boat as you mate! Just really hoping I can get a Last of Us console bundle on release day!
