The Last Of Us

Is it worth buying a PS4 for? PS4 isn't backwards compatible with PS3 titles, or is it?
I know XB1 isn't with 360... which has put me off buying one.

I would really like to play this/uncharted series...but don't want to buy a PS3 if there's nothing else to look forward to in the future. May as well get a PS4 :)

I would buy a PS4 for this, it is in my opinion a stunning game.
 
I finished the main story yesterday and about half way through the DLC, I hadn't played the DLC on the PS3 so this is new for me..

I still rate this as one of the best games made, the story and gameplay is great and the sound is just awesome!

I think people get re-mastered and re-made muddles up, but if this is just a sign of what naughty dog can do then roll on the new uncharted.

I pre-ordered the ps4 bundle that had this with it. I'm looking to get Diablo 3 and Fifa 15 in the next couple of months as well. It's starting to pick up a bit now in terms of games coming out, so now would be a fairly decent time to get one in my opinion.
 
I'd sooner have a PS3 and enjoy the huge catalogue of games it has than skip it entirely for the sake of a PS4.

Or just get a cheap PS3, play the best of what it has to offer then sell it on and put the money towards a PS4 later in the year.

I'd actually say go for the PS4 now, later in the year is actually pretty close starting with Destiny on Sept 9th the rest of the year is looking really good.

Playstation Now may be an option for playing the back catalogue of PS3 games etc if the price is right.
 
I have and played this when it was out for the PS3, def one of the best games I had played in a long time amazing in everyway.

Is there any reason to get this for the PS4, is there that much of a difference graphics wise or anything else for that matter etc???

I would get a PS3 but there's nothing I really want to play on it other than maybe far cry 3. I keep getting that nagging feeling I should get a cheap one just to take advantage of my PS+, any thoughts?

Oh maybe it's just me then - On my game my allies can run around the area and never get spotted by enemies.
If they didm I'd not have the patience to play the game and probably just revert to Easy mode to experience the story.

It's a shame AI is quite poor though on the whole as most of the game otherwise is very well polished and detailed.


Also, it's been pointed out already but have to say that the best thing about this game IMO is the Sound Quality. I've got quite a good sound system and a lot of games do sound good, but The Last of Us in particular sounds stunning. Explosions sound amazing and everything just sounds so crisp and clear. Not often I notice sound effects of a game to be honest but they really do stand out here

This game is brutally hard on grounded, especially with the reticle off. You can't mess about. One mistake and you're done pretty much. You barely get any ammo or items. Definitely makes it scarier and more intense but I'm finding it hard to enjoy the story since progress is slow and you die a lot.

Agreed, Killzone for example is much better looking, TLOU is the better game though of course.

I wouldn't do grounded for a first run through, Hard or Survivor would be more than enough and if you are interested in trophies you'll have to play it more than once anyway :)
 
I like how it's quite difficult very early on in the game. It's an interesting way of doing things that makes gameplay more rewarding later on in the game. Very clever.
