The Last Of Us

It takes ~25 seconds to load a game with a mechanical drive via the digital version so his point is still valid. Almost 3x quicker.
Oh I dont disagree, just his example link was a poor one - mines not been that long to load a game, but then Ive not timed it (deffo say its a minute though)...

He's just pimping his camera work and awesome projector setup.

There should have been an install option though, those disc load times are shocking.

I dno why they havent started doing that, just seem uninterested as theres no reason not to do it...

LOL didnt even realise it was his video, well thats even worse then to link to, I dno anyone here that uses a SSD for their PS3 :p

yeah ive always thought that, even if they made it optional .

For me this is superior to Uncharted in every way. Super tense combat, atmosphere, less of the hand holding and signposting of everything - it actually feels like I'm exploring and discovering things in The Last of US. I actually thought the start was the weaker part - very linear without many weapons or gadgets. Once things progress and
after it's just you and the girl
the game opens right up and just keeps getting better and better. The story and the way it's delivered is also excellent. Best single player game I've played in ages :)

I think my main problem with this game and in fact any sort of stealth game is that I would much rather kick the **** out of things in a very loud, guns blazing, axe wielding way, I've always found stealth games very frustrating as I'm about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

That said, I'm enjoying the game so far although I've played very little.

To be honest that's how I played the game apart from couple of area's where i had to go all stealth. Once i got shotgun then clickers were no match, I blame too much COD for my game style.

Finished the game last night and loved every minute of it, game was just kept getting better and better. To be honest really didn't wanted game to end.

When people are saying they blasted their way through, are you referring to normal difficulty or one of the harder modes?

Pretty sure on hard your resources are much more limited so you actually have to decide if combat is an option or whether sneaking past would be better.

Can't believe people are moaning about the stealth and down time in this game. It would have been terrible if it was any more action packed. It would ruin the whole atmosphere. There are plenty of shooters for you to play.

I'm not moaning, I am saying that I'm not used to playing stealth games nor are they my game type of choice. I don't think many other people are moaning either, they're saying that they're not used to playing stealthy games and that they are used to more action oriented games.

The stealth reminds me of Tenchu, waiting ages for the right moment to strike and then slipping back into cover. Really enjoying that side of the game, it's been a while since I really enjoyed a bit of stealth. Dishonoured was good, but it didn't quite grab me in the same way.

Yeah all of us with the digital version have a SSD :p. Bit of an niche example there

The results are skewed anyway, the game caches data on the HDD so of course it was quicker the second time. I just tried my own test, and it took 57 seconds from hitting Continue on the main menu to the game actually being playable. The console was off before loading the game.

Quit to the XMB, started the game again, this time it was 17 seconds from hitting Continue.
