The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom(use spoiler tags!)

I wonder if you get anything if you have a finished botw save file.
I was thinking the same. Like when you make that whole town up north east (I forget the name but the one with the '...son' residents), it would be cool if this is different depending on whether you completed that quest.

I do also wonder story wise when this game takes place. It seems after the events of botw, but there's naturally a story that can be told of 10,000 years ago when it first happened

That's Friday booked off of work :)

GAME have dispatched the Amiibo and LE boxset.

Knowing my luck it'll be delivered at 3pm by our postie, questioning whether to just go digital instead and be able to have an hour or two at midnight.

When it comes to classic Nintendo games I always buy the physical format. That means, in the rare event a game gets de-listed, I always have a playable copy. Also the physical format hold value and can be sold at a later date. But I'm not as hyped for TotK as you are ( not to say I'm not looking forward to it ) and don't feel the need to play it at midnight on Thursday.

Very few things I get excited for as an adult but this is one of them :D

Me too! but for once, I am just getting plain vanilla copy and skipping all the collectibles.

Is it confirmed the digital version unlocks at midnight? I've seen stuff mentioned for the US but nothing concrete for UK.

Good question, I was assuming it unlocked at midnight but I've heard nothing specific.

Are the US getting it for midnight in their time zone?

I’m teetering on the brink of getting this, but I can’t make up my mind.

haven’t played a Zelda game since the 90’s (LOZ:OOT on N64), which I absolutely loved.

Do they get boring, or are they very addictive? Can’t stand paying £50 for a game, then getting bored after 5 mins. There is resale value though I suppose.

Someone convince me please :D

If you already own a Switch, why not give it a go ? Millions of people loved BOTW, and TotK is going to have a similar open world style. At the very worst, if you don't like the game, it should be relatively simple to sell the game and recover most of what you paid. If you don't own a Switch, that's a different argument. Not sure I'd buy any console to specifically play one game.

Bought a switch last week, the Zelda version funnily enough lol

Might be worth trying to pick up Breath of the Wild second hand to play first?

It's a different style of game to something like Ocarina or other mainline Zelda games, with more scope for you to just go and do what you want, when you want rather than being guided through more of a linear story.

Obviously without having played Tears of the Kingdom yet, its difficult to say for sure, but this being the first real 'sequel' with an actual linked story, it also may not make as much sense from a story perspective if all you've watched is a YouTube story refresher for Breath of the Wild.
