The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom(use spoiler tags!)

I've watched reviews of both this and botw. I just know I won't be able play both as I generally get open world apathy after 20 hours. They seem quite similar. Better for me to go for botw as may run smoother snd more polished?

I'd go BOTW. I haven't yet started TOTK (I'm away this weekend, and it's currently sitting on my desk at work :(), but BOTW is genuinely stunning.

I also get open world fatigue so didn't finish it, and don't really feel that I've missed out - the game is very much about experiencing the world and less about the storyline (which I usually dislike, but because the world is so well created it's fantastic).

If you like BOTW, then go for TOTK which, from what I've read,
has more traditional style dungeons

I've only just started totk but love botw, it's an absolute masterpiece even after all these years.

I'd recommend starting with botw as I'm not sure how it would be going from totk back to botw.

Hi, does this run better on the game cartridge or on a memory card?

i want to get it immediatly but wondering if i should get the catridge version or the digital version basically

Only played for about an hour and a bit but its made me smile again already. I just love exploring this version of hyrule. I think all my worries about scale and difference in world has been put to bed for sure.

So I went to Argos this morning and picked up a copy, managed to snag one for £44.99, which has annoyed some people who pre-ordered from Argos for a whopping £59.99.

Played about four hours so far, super impressed. It's genuinely BOTW but on steroids, to answer the above question, I'd probably say just jump straight into TOTK.

Thanks all.

So , it TOTK essentially the same game then to BOTW? Except with a slightly different world and updated mechanics?

It's a direct sequel, using the same engine, in an expanded/updated version of the same world, some new mechanics, continuing the story told in BOTW (and Hyrule Warriors).

Same I’m straight into it and loving it.

bought it earlier from the eshop and yay it seems to be really good so far, the fps for the most part is tolerable and im enjoying it :)

FPS drops are relatively frequent so far, and I think a fair few people here will be annoyed with that.

Beyond that small gripe for me I’m utterly besotted.

Have died a surprising amount of times too. Not Elden Ring levels of difficulty of course but a spike from BOTW I feel. No bad thing.

Just finished the starting islands and loving it so far it's basically botw with new mechanics. My switch lite isn't doing it justice and my old eyes are straining at the small screen so I've upgraded to an oled totk switch. Should look real nice on my 42 inch c2 oled.

yeh the fps drops are a wee bit jarring after been used to my new 165hz monitor and playing games at over 100 fps on the pc and used to ps5 as well, im getting used to its fps now, seems to be when i use the skill to pick up things the fps takes a nose dive but it has been ok in combat etc

i died at a enemy camp that had 3 or 4 enemies a few times and jumped off a cliff once lol, other than that im finding it easier than when i first played botw but i think im still in the starting phase, just got to a snowy mountain and things are slowly coming back to me as it has been a long time since i last played botw :)

overall im impressed with it and what they have managed to get out of the switch :D

edit : i spoke too soon just died several more times in a row to unlock a chest guarded by 2 enemies lol
