One that is often overlooked: Our language(!)
Awesome cheese
Awesome beer
British countryside
The stiff upper lip
Our engineering prowess (we design, build and race 80% of the cars in F1)
Our music
The NHS
William Shakespeare
Brown sauce :D
Many more I'm sure...

EDIT: I just googled 50 great things about Britain. AOL lists number 3 as 'Coronation Street' :(

If you consider the many other countries in which you could have been born, you begin to realise just how lucky we are to live in the UK. Ignoring the obvious clean water, sanitation, fresh food, electricity, education etc, here are some of the benefits we have over the other modern industrial societies...
(in no particular order..)

No earthquakes (that hurt), volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, volcanoes or tidal waves.
No significant levels of corruption in government.
Freedom to leave the country and come back again.
Freedom of the press to criticise the government and politicians
A passport that lets you in just about everywhere (including Cuba!)
The best indian food on earth.
Fish and chips!
Some of the best museums and galleries in the world (if not the best!)
The Dunkirk spirit of the people here.
The fantastic sense of humour of the people.
Beautiful countryside that's safe to walk in.
Best football league in the world.
Parliament where politicians are heckled by the opposition.

etc, etc, etc...

You have to say the British are a pretty tolerant people.

Some of our traditions are priceless.

I love driving home from the city to the countryside it's stunning and that's coming from a young person at just 27 who should much prefer the metropolis of concrete, right?
