The life and times of UPO 69, my 1968 Pontiac Firebird.

Sure it's because of the low emissions, right? :D

Sticking a great big finger up to all those eco hippies :D

Thought I'd commented on this thread last time I saw it, but it would appear not. Brutal car Lewis, I'm sure it's not the easiest car to live with but my god, I'm sure it's worth it.

Hearing that uneven idle every morning would make my day!

Nice one for sticking with it. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

:D

Well, I'm advertising it... I'm still not entirely sure about selling it, though.

Things are shifting around at the moment so if someone offered me a good price I'd be tempted to take it - but it's not the be all and end all if they don't.

If I were to replace it, I'd probably go for a nice C5 Corvette, a Maserati 3200, a Lancia Thema 8.32, a nice E34 M5 (maybe) or something else, not sure really.

Maybe a project, but I'm not sure I'll have the time soon...

Oh, Rilot, I use it for daily stuff - shopping, town visits, etc. It's very docile. You have to really get on it (3,500RPM+) for it to wake up. Then it just becomes a wall of rolling noise :D

Does need a fair few odd jobs and bits of titivation doing but then again it's 44 and been around a bit :)

Yep, slightly altered from Ferrari spec - different crank design, different firing order, and a few other changes.

Just read all that & god knows how they crammed all that in under the bonnet & made it FWD ?
I don't like it, the interior or the exterior even if it has a Ferrari lump I still prefer the 68, That is just in a class of it's own I reckon.
