This Salah stuff is becoming a bit of an exaggeration. Since returning from AFCON he's got 10 goals or assists in sub 950 PL minutes. If that's Salah being woeful then **** me sideways. I'd be amazed if Firmino starts having not been involved for weeks. The team will likely be very close to what @Rotty posted, with the only possible change being Matip for Konate.
Just basing Konate on how Klopp has been rotating recently, if Matip was intended to play final I don't think he would have played Tues

I find the Salah criticism infuriating. He may not track back as much as the other forwards, but even when he’s off form, he’s a handful and still makes the runs that frees up space for the others.
Yea, I agree. I was just saying that was the only real position that I see being up for grabs. The others, fitness permitting, pick themselves right now.
It's bonkers. I actually think his defensive work has been as good as ever recently too. He's not been scoring as much as he was but he's still contributing hugely. He probably has needed a bit more of a break than he's had but it's a bit difficult - we've got 3 players that can play on the left of the attack but only really Salah or Mane (who's playing central more) that are comfortable on the right.

A) nobody has said he's not dropped off, simply that saying he's been woeful is a massive exaggeration and B) you are aware that Dan is explaining that Salah's general performances have been much the same and it's only his chance conversation that's dropped off?
Yes, his decision making has been woeful post afcon - shot accuracy and conversion rates have dropped off a cliff despite the fact he's having more touches and final 3rd ball carries, more shots. Hell pretty much every thing post afcon is higher, except the important thing.
As I said, nobody has said he's not dropped off. He has. To say he's been woeful is a bit of an exaggeration though, especially when he's still averaging a goal or assist every 90 odd minutes.
As Dan says in the tweet you've quoted, he's just going through a dry patch in front of goal. It happens.

Changing subject... does this thread act broken for anyone else? Clicking the envelope just brings me back a couple of days rather than to the latest unread post.
I've not bothered with the last unread message button thing for years because it's never worked properly for me. I'll ask those that know whether it should be working properly since the forum update.

Salah has just gone from being exceptional to just very good. He's been a constant threat just end product has suffered a touch.
He's exceptional now and always has been. He's played the most minutes of anyone in world football. He's goosed.
Gomez only a minor injury. Should be ok for CL final.

Form wise, I would agree he's been third best but that's more to do with a slow start after his injury and the form of the other two as you said.
Konate's been exceptional but Matip's been even better and I'd probably put him 3rd ahead of Carragher and Agger as our best Prem era CB.
I know the point you're trying to make but no. VVD at 70% is still the best CB around. I love Matip and he's been flawless this season and as good as he can be but that's still below VVD, even not at his best. This is mad because Matip is by no means small, weak or slow (far from it relative to most CB's) but he has physical limitations below that of VVD. Even when VVD isn't at his best, his sheer size, strength and pace make him so difficult for forwards to play against.
And while Konate has had an excellent first season, I think we've got to remember he's had a few moments too. It wasn't that many games ago that he made a big mistake to cost us a goal vs Benfica. Like VVD he has all the physical attributes you want in a CB though and with more experience he looks to have a huge future ahead of him.
