The Liverpool Club Thread. **No Spoilers**

Weve added some quality into the squad, aslong as we dont lose Diaz and bring in a centre half, we will be going into the next season with a pretty exciting squad.

We will lose Elliot and Nunez, hopefully that funds another decent striker.

Konate contract situation doesn't look good

He often looks amazing and sometime clueless, add to that his injury record and I wouldn't be devastated if we cashed it, certainly don't want another repeat of Trent saga

Harvey Elliott has scored yet another banger in the u21 euros, 2nd on the top scorer list now. I really hope he doesn't leave and Slot uses him more this season, kids a wonderful talent (at the very least its gotta be adding double figures to his value)

Cracking finishes, right and left foot. I wouldn't sell Eliot, certainly not for the 40m being talked about.

More evidence on why I'd much rather see Jones go than Elliott, if we had to choose one to go. Sadly, Elliott may have to go in order to get playtime to further his career :(

I've struggled to make my mind up on Elliott for the past 4-5 years or however long he's been at the club. He's a talented player but his lack of physicality has always been an issue. Although good, he's probably not good enough to get away with being 5 foot nothing and not particularly fast.

With the midfield changing from one sitter and two more advanced under Klopp to two sitters(ish) and one advanced under Slot, he's gone from competing for two spots in the side to just one. Even with Szoboszlai being his only real competition for that one spot last season, he barely got a look in and we've now just spent £100m+ on Wirtz for that role. Other than being back-up for Salah (which I suspect Szobo might be ahead of him there too), he's not getting near the side.

As for the him or Jones stuff, while Jones blows hot or cold too much and I don't know what will become of him long term, at least he's an option for all three midfield roles so has some use in the squad.

I’m on the Jones should go over Elliott as well and always have been.

Jones is too hot and cold and for me this is his ceiling. I don’t see Jones jumping a level.

Elliott though like you say for sake of his career probably has to move

@BaZ87 has a point, with Wirtz that makes Elliott's chances of game time less likely

Jones I just don't think has enough to be a first reserve squad plater though

I think Elliott and Jones should both go but it's unlikely we'll end up doing that much business, as well as giving ourselves the headache of losing two home-grown players.

Jones has small spells in seasons where you think there's a player capable of being in and around the squad but the spells usually aren't sustained, whether it comes down to form or injury.

Elliott is very talented but his lack of physicality seems to be the reason for not making this Liverpool team. Regardless of how well he's played in the U21 tournament, Slot simply just doesn't seem to rate or trust him in the side.

Harsh but I think being so small and not really that quick are just two sacrifices the manager doesn't want to make. If he had the raw pace of someone like a Ben Doak, whose actual end product has been questionable in his few Liverpool appearances, then I think there would be a much stronger argument for keeping Harvey around.

Even more changes to the coaching staff this summer. In addition to Heitinga, the club have announced that both keeper coaches have left with Xavi Valero returning to the club to replace them.
