Hmm, it seems okay from what bit I've played, but there's stuff I don't like.
Like when you're meant to keep a fire going for nine hours, sort of. I put in enough wood to keep it going (couldn't find much at all until later when the wind blew more down), but turns out you have to put in enough wood at once to keep it burning for nine hours.
I guess that makes sense for the nine hours rest required, but they could've worded it better. Had to start over :/
That makes an in game event blow down a tree whilst you're asleep, letting you get to the next part.
Oh, the first backpack is bugged too.
Apart from that, it seems okay. First scene when you're in story mode was good. Apparently you're meant to get those in survival mode too, but not seen any signs of it.
Had to restart here due this Day3 issue - had enough resources for 90%, but nothing else could be located.
At least you can speed through the night melting snow

Gaargh! I never even thought to keep doing that.
I grabbed enough wood (ooer) to last the night, then melted enough water to last a day or two. Then I was throwing lit torches around for to pass the time
Ah welp, steam got updated, give it another day or two & we may see the patch on gog too
Had a dabble with this on Game Pass. Doesn't seem like it's very polished. I couldn't work out what the heck to do after my plane crashed and just kept dying. Everything you seem to do chips away at your health meter until you drop down dead.
It seems I'm confusing this with something else - Among Trees. I thought this had only come out within the last couple of weeks but it's been out nearly six years. No wonder it's a bit janky looking!
In survival mode your first point should be shelter. Then once you have warmed up make plans with what you can see near you instead of hoping there will be something over the hill etc.
As for the graphics it's just the art style Raphael went with. I'm quite fond of it tbh.
