The Long Dark - Survival Simulator **No zombies!**

I like how this panned out. I think I grabbed it early 2015 for like £10, and full release is £25-30

Rather than PUBG taking the Mick charging £27 at launch of its EA because they know it will sell and clearly hasn't bothered anyone :D

I paid £7.49 in June 2015. How many more people are left to buy the game? Most of those who would have bought the game, probably have already done so. Future gamers won't be so lucky though.

Not too sure perhaps it will get more attention and maybe it will be reviewed now as it's a finished product. Though actually it's not as it's only 2 episodes.. not sure

Ooh, nice, picked this up a year or so ago for £7.50 in a steam sale, played 5-6 games, never lasted past ~15 days though, always get overconfident and eaten by those damn wolves!

I love (and hate :p) the way it doesn't matter how much you've built up your character and stashed loads of equipment, 1 stupid mistake and you're dead

Skills?? I don't think the game had skills when I last played :O

They sneaked them in quite some time ago & it's one of those things I still hate in all games.
In TLD, any time you do something, your chances improve over time for doing it better the more you do it (giggity).
So say you're making a fire, got all the items you need. You've a higher chance of not being able to start a fire, but as you do more & more attempts, you get a higher "chance" of being able to do one first time next time you attempt to make one & so on.
There's also books. Pick them up & you magically learn how to fish, even if you've already been fishing :p

Storm is over, power never went out.
gog still haven't released the game.
Worse, saw Scott Manley posted a youtube clip about the "new" game but I can't watch it because spoilers!

The universe is teasing me

In case any other gog users are still waiting...

"Historically GOG has had a few hours to a few days lag behind the Steam releases but I would assume the timing should be very close. @Patrick Carlson should have a more accurate time estimate.

All I can share right now re: GOG release is we're working on it! And we appreciate your patience there. "

(as for that historically part. Yeah, but also had games released earlier there than steam at times too, depends on what devs are doing)

gog finally got sent the files today, now the long wait for them to sort out their myriad of installers

Spoiler free, how is the story mode?

I have this on the xbox one and really enjoyed the sandbox mode. Great sense of achievement when you survive your first night. Haven't played it in ages though.

Is the Xbox one Version getting the Story updates as well? Must check it out. Can't wait to see how the story mode goes.

Hmm, it seems okay from what bit I've played, but there's stuff I don't like.

Like when you're meant to keep a fire going for nine hours, sort of. I put in enough wood to keep it going (couldn't find much at all until later when the wind blew more down), but turns out you have to put in enough wood at once to keep it burning for nine hours.

I guess that makes sense for the nine hours rest required, but they could've worded it better. Had to start over :/

That makes an in game event blow down a tree whilst you're asleep, letting you get to the next part.

Oh, the first backpack is bugged too.

Apart from that, it seems okay. First scene when you're in story mode was good. Apparently you're meant to get those in survival mode too, but not seen any signs of it.

I last played when they did the UI overhaul, used to be quite addicted to it. Might play more and try and accomplish some of those feats (lighting X amount of fires etc)
