The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Prime)

You cannot be serious, go and get your eyes tested, not to mention your ears cleaned out. Jesus Christ, the two portrayals have literally nothing in common, one portaying an ethereal being, wise and graceful, the other an ineffectual, immature, deeply irritating narcisscist with the worst personality this side of the Black Gates.

This has to be the dumbest thing I've read on this forum in 2024.

You don't like the show? That's fine and you are entitled to your opinion as much as anyone else. But if you belittle people for it, you cross the line.

I just finished the second season of ROP and I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. The characters and sets look fantastic and I'm so glad that Amazon's take on Middle Earth looks a lot more like Peter Jackson's original LOTR trilogy than the utterly terrible CGI hash that he did for the Hobbit movies. This season kept me interested all the way through (unlike the first) and I thought it had a good balance of action and storytelling - also far less time spent with the halflings who don't have half the charisma of the original hobbits in the LOTR trilogy.

No idea why so much hatred for the actress playing Galadriel, she is a bit wooden at times but the arrogance and immaturity is to be expected when she is playing Galadriel thousands of years before the Cate Blanchett version in LOTR.

I have no issue with the actress, I am sure she's playing it how the directors want her to play it, but this argument always baffles me as she's already thousands of years old, she's one of the oldest Elves, born in the year of the trees. Canonically she's far too wise and perceptive that she never falls for anything Sauron does and it's a real shame they seem to have done away with this for the usual 'romance' plot. Although Tolkien was never super clear about it, she was thought to have married Celeborn, or the legend that is Teleporno sometime in the first age.

I’ve no need for the above. /Pats signed ultimate collectors edition!
Nice, but £99 is ridiculous / early adopter tax, IMO.

I think 4K physical media is generally wildly overpriced.
any new Disney disk will cost an extra fee Bob now that they have outsourced to Sony.

If you want that full uncompressed sound and the best picture quality going there’s only one option available.

Picked up Deadpool and Wolverine and the track is demo worthy. Might have lost a few roof tiles off the roof as I just couldn’t help myself yanking that volume.
