Always being that price and I suspect now they are making little or a loss, so would not be surprised if they adjust pricing up as well.

They don't need to if they never get stock.

Actually the recent graphics launches, the early adopters have pretty much won every time recently, prices seem to be either increasing in general or you simply get less for same money.

Yes, first it was exchange rate issues, now it's supply shortages.

But on the flip side, I've just made a truly amazing SSD deal which will go live in coming hours/days. So its not all bad.

Sounds nice but GPUs tend to be a much larger portion of a build's cost than the SSD.

Can't imagine how bad things would be if we were still stuck with 4c/4t CPUs costing £250 and 4c/8t CPUs at £350.

I've had 580's land so I am going to see if I can sort something on those tomorrow, but I will be upfront, they are Devil cards and my upfront cost is $325 plus delivery, so the last voucher price I did on those simply won't be possible as they are now a good $60-70 more expensive than last time.

after chinese new year i think guessing no stock pile would be left there over their festive holidays (gtx 1070ti)

not able to grab the GTX 1080? guessing its about £50-30 more then the 1070ti you've ordered unless its Palit ? which im guessing will be a while - overclock the 1080 and it will still easily pull ahead of the 70ti

The MSI GTX 1070 TI I've got on order is just shy of £440 which is a good price I think given it'll OC to 1080 speeds OK - I keep getting emails though saying their suppliers have let them down etc so I've got no idea when I'll get it. The 1080 at £500 is a good deal but still, it's £500.....I've never spent that much on a single card before

Only reason I'm upgrading is because my EVGA GTX 970 has just started giving me random black screen crashes when under load and it's 2-3 months out of warranty! 1060 seems like the natural cheaper replacement but I'm not happy spending 1060 money on a card that's no better than my 970 was.

I see where your coming from, 70ti overclocked just comes shy of default FE 1080 and nice little increase of performance over 1070 - thought sounds like they source through distributors , i know OCUK can often order direct from source as well as standard distributors .

With the discount on offer I would be surprised if the GPU is worth less than I'm paying now for a few weeks/months and yes I was waiting on the Volta to upgrade my 980Ti but saw this as a good opportunity to turn the clock back a few months.

I will likely buy a Volta but don't the Ti versions come out several months later? I'm only interested in those myself.

I think it's likely that these Pascal cards will compare well with the next gen, at least in terms of perf/£. Tbh I'm not expecting the next gen to really raise the bar in terms of perf/£. I'm expecting better perf, more features, less power usage, but at greater cost. Prise rises across all tiers.

So it really is a personal choice to wait or not.

However it is simply a fact that the current gen is nearly 2 years old, and that the next gen is ~2 months away (announcements at least).

So regardless of how good Pascal is - and will continue to be - the wait for the next gen is tiny compared to the the age of the current gen.

Still 1080p at the moment - PC specs below, my machine needs an update, GPU needs sorting now then hoping to move over to Ryzen in a few months. Got to love that Sandy bridge chip, done me well for nearly 7 years now!

as you say 1060 would have done nicely but price decrease on deal just isnt as nice at the 1070/80 or what you've ordered the 70ti at that nice price - though im guessing it'll be end of the month - did they take your money for it ?

True. If past releases are anything to go by it'll be the 1180 first, then the 1170/60 a couple weeks after... then a longer pause and (gaming) Titan, then another short(ish) pause. Obviously the pause between the Titan and the Ti must be short enough to really wind up some Titan users for maximum lulz... then the Ti gets released. The Ti is indeed 6+ months after the first releases normally.

The flip side is that the 1180 will probably be comparible to/out-perform the 1080ti, with better features.

So if a person is more concerned with buying (current-gen) "Ti performance", and not actually specifically looking for a "Ti" card, then the 1180 is an option.

It's a hard one with a new nvidia release imminent but there's a lot of uncertainly on performance to price/availability etc. I'll be miffed if I eventually get my 70TI then they release the new 60/70 that's better but around the same price that I paid

Will be looking to move to 1440 screens and a new PC later this year too so don't want to have to upgrade GPU again anytime soon.

EDIT: No, I'm local to them so I've gone collection only/pay on pick up, hence if anything pops up here or elsewhere I can just buy it.
