The Manchester United Club Thread **Sponsored by Comedy Central**

Hardly. Maguire can scrap with police in Greece, Antony can do what hes done yet somehow Rashford gets pelters. He's crap, always has been, just because some fans are finally realising it doesnt make it his fault.

Just look at redcafes forum. There is literally a thread called "Maguires redemption" and one above is "Manchester United view sidelining Marcus Rashford as key to cultural reboot"

United are garbage, they are stinking the place out week after week and Rashford is seemingly being used as a sacrificial lamb.

There are a multitude of reasons.

United are garbage and stinking the place out - why you need to state this is funny, United have been rubbish with a bad attitude for over a decade. You're stating the obvious. However, things do appear to be changing, Amorim can only deal with the current state of things. That's what's the cultural reset is, and if Rashford is causing issues then he should not be immune.

Maguire does seem to have redeemed himself on the pitch. He also got loads of stick when he was having issues but not only that, people call him slabhead. How can you imply that he gets treated well? By all accounts, his attitude in the club is good and he wanted to stick around to prove himself (and pick up a big pay cheque).

Antony has had loads of stick, he's been sidelined for ages, he's been in the news also. Not sure what you're moaning about here?

Rashford has had numerous disciplinary issues for quite a while now. Not only that, and this is the main issue, his attitude on the pitch stinks, and it's getting worse.

Frankly your anti-Untied bias is shining brightly here.

Going back to your original/first post, people are giving Rashford stick due to poor attitude and low level of effort more than anything else. And when I mean people I mean most reasonable fans, not the media. Everyone wants him to succeed. With his recent antics he's made himself the lamb.

Wait is he trying to claim that only Rashford gets hatred?
Maguire was the most abused players in world football at one point, he was getting abuse from politicians from other countries!

I think we all know of the certain posters in here whose posts we need to take with a huge pinch of salt. Probably can include myself in that group.

We don't often agree but I think you have a point. If Man United weren't so crap in recent seasons Marcus Rashford would not receive the attention he does. He's quite often been one of our best players and that's saying something when you consider that he's not actually that good - at least in world terms. I don't think he deserves the attention he gets both positive and negative. The club is partly to blame because they made an average player into the poster child for a failing team and also decided to give him crazy wages. He's not a bad lad but the game has moved on and he's not had the motivation to adapt. Hopefully he gets a move and a respite from all the hate.

Correct, as he wouldn't even get in the team. His attitude and work ethic on the pitch would not have been tolerated in our successful era.

But I do agree, the club is also partly to blame for making him the poster boy.

Ya do realise that the thread titles on Redcafe, much like on here get changed for comedic/topic value. And that new threads pop up based on current events. Go have a look at threads on Maguire over the past few years. If Rashford magically turned it around and started putting in the effort and acting professionally tomorrow he would have a very similar thread to Maguires on there.

As for Antony, you are just proving our point. Antony is crap. He gets crap for being crap. Shockingly though, he doesn't get the crap Rashford does because hes not on the same salary and when he does play he works his ass off. So perhaps Rashford gets the abuse he does because he deserves it for his attitude and behaviour. If theres one thing fans really hate its an overpaid player who doesn't care about the club and doesn't work for the club or the fans. If there is one thing they dislike even more than that, its a player who likes to tell them how much he cares and how hard he works for the team when their eyeballs tell them the complete opposite. Wonder who fits that description to a tee?

It's simply outrageous to suggest the fans are to blame for Rashford's poor attitude.

This is a guy who was adored by the fans, given a huge contract, and has built a massive global profile. He looks utterly disinterested and has done for a long time. It's completely inexcusable, amplified by his huge salary.

He certainly hasn't always been "crap" - overrated yes, a huge form player, definitely, but he's had very good spells far beyond the average player.

Perhaps there's a mental health angle we aren't privy to, which is fair enough, but on the face of it he's done just about everything wrong from the outside looking in.

Of course the malaise at the club hasn't helped him, he's not really a leader and never will be, and a lot of pressure was heaped on him from a young age.

In other news it's being reported that the Saudi league are keen on him: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...wants-marcus-rashford-stay-manchester-united/

Would suit all parties from a financial angle, although Rashford's image would suffer if he went out there. Seems he's not in the squad for the game tomorrow either, but Garnacho is...

I thought Amorim handled it brilliantly earlier as usual, turning Rashford's own comments against him.
