Not imo been over hyped by the media never was as good as made out also feel fluked that contract extension had idiots who gave out contracts probably thinking about the commercial side and that purple patch season last few months of it he was dreadful

If he was so gifted as some say we should see glimpse of it main asset pace without he looks technically limited and football iq not great that's before adding in overall work rate

Agreed. Greenwood was always that star player but he ruined himself. It is a bit bitter that he has scored 10 in 15 for Marseille however.

Hopefully we can get 30-40 million for Rashford at least but who will buy him that is the problem.

Rashford not scoring isnt a problem for me. Its his attitude, not tracking back, bad decisions when it comes to shooting/passing. Head pretty much always down, crappy body language list goes on. I would rather we get 30-40m for him and just say thanks, off you go now.

2 great seasons, he's had plenty of good seasons. Only the last couple and the one under Rangnick have been poor

Thats arguable. Yes hes a wide forward but hes been given license to largely ignore our striker and go for goal at every opportunity. Hes scored 10 or more goals in 4 of his 10 seasons at the club.

His 4 years with over 10 goals have been 10, 11, 17, 17. Hes not a big assister either.

If you want a player to compare him to, Son has been with Spurs for 10 seasons (inc. this one) too and has scored over 10 goals in 8 of them and will do the same this season no doubt so 9/10 seasons.

Rashford

287 appearances
87 goals - 0.3 per game
40 assists - 0.14 per game

Son

316 appearances
125 goals - 0.4 per game
68 assists - 0.22 per game

He also hasn't been a problem for his club and is on nearly half the wage Rashford is on. He works his socks off and is basically the model professional. However you want to look at Rashford, hes not a brilliant player and he doesn't have a brilliant output.

And yes this is just PL because thats the only real fair comparison as every other competition skews things and you aren't comparing apples to apples any more.

I am just fed up with Rashford now, he makes very little effort and doesn't seem to care, and that's the long and short of it. Absolutely ridiculous given the privileged position he's in, but there we go.

Henry Winter has been speaking to him today:

The key point - I ask Rashford if he’s staying or going? “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.” All of his words were prefaced with respect for the club which has been his home for almost 20 years.

I wonder if something is in the pipeline, but outside of the Saudi league, who would pay his wages?

That does sound like he knows he is off. I wonder what stage we are at in that process. The "I have suitors and I am ready to move" or "I have been told I will be for sale and I still think someone is going to pay me my current salary". I fear leaving United might be a somewhat humbling experience for him. That being said, I think he will scrape by on whatever meagre salary he manages to get.

Loan deal in January?
I’ll be surprised if we manage to sell him with his high wages.

Rashford being left out the matchday squad and potentially leaving, that's made me more positive about the club. Finally some good decisions being made.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why Ashworth went, did he favour keeping him?

A new country and a league that isn't as good might do him a world of good.

Can't see anyone taking him on with the same wages unless it's the Saudi league he'll have to take wage cut elsewhere and united to give him some compensation

Huge wages, under performing on the pitch, manager clearly doesn't want him yet some on here are expecting 30 to 40m?

Depends if he is willing to take a bit of a haircut on his wages any any number of other factors. Does he want to play for England again? Does he still care about football? Will he be happy to basically sit in the reserves and run his contract down if United dig in? £30m is also chump change for anyone half decent these days. Theres always the allure with a player who has shown flashes of brilliance as well.

re: rashford, hes going in Jan isnt he. If what he said is true about new challenge etc, I cant see him staying. People going on about his wages and whos going to pay them, if he wants to keep playing football and take on a new challenge, he will have to accept what he is offered. Or sit and rot at Utd for the next year or whatever
