That's only seven players! However, I get your drift and don't disagree with your keepers.
I don't think defence is that bad - we maybe dont have a van Dyke or a Gabriel but Maguire, DeLigt, Martinez are not bad players. For sure we are short in midfield, wingback and up front. Chido Obi Martin will get squad time this season - the boy is immense. Kukonki also has physicality to step in for minutes but the rest of the u-21s don't look developed enough to easily bolster the squad for how Amorim want's to play. Jim Thwaites, Jack Fletcher are talented midfielders but they aren't men yet imo.
Realistically 6-8 will leave in the summer and maybe 6 come in.

Barely turned up quite literally, as he played only 20 games (15 in PL) that season. Also had injuries, Ronaldo was selected over him and took his shirt number and it was the year of Ole and Rangnick. Hardly conducive to a stellar season, particularly when he seemed to be quite an emotional guy anyway. I felt kinda bad for him at the time, and he was great the previous season.

My only concern with younger talent is how they're integrated into the squad and managed. There has been a fair few examples with us taking younger talent (not necessarily from our youth setups) and expecting a lot from them quickly in terms of the number of games they play and to perform. Mainoo is the only choice there as Amorim isn't giving game time to Casemiro and Mount is injured. The other options such as Eriksen do not really suit that position and only typically come on as a last throw of the dice. It was the same with Januzaj.
 
I see that Rashford has reared his head again in the media.

Isn't it crazy that someone can earn over £1m a month and effectively down tools without fear. He could easily sit out the rest of his contract. Madness.

Fair play to amorim for smashing the dressing room up and having rage at the players. Any players that dont bounce back from any rage shouted at them, **** 'em off to the reserves and give some 'about ready' youth a chance. Ween them in for next season, just tell the kids if you make a mistake, learn from it, dont let it lower your confidence. If we get relegated so be it. Had enough of most of these players now.

that being said, lets see how much Onana can **** up on Thursday. If we don't beat Rangers, I dunno, is it best we end up in the Championship? We are probably a mid championship team anyway.

Whilst i'm far from a football managing genius here. Am i the only one wondering why it's not possible to play Zirkzee in the 10 roll beside Fernandes behind Hojland. It always seems to be one or the other, but from what i saw clip wise, some of his build up play seemed pretty decent and it feels like he could play some decent through balls for Hojland if you got them working together

If there is any real danger of going down they will replace him with 4-5 games left I imagine. They need to buy him a couple of players in January if they want anything out of this season but misery though.

you think Amorim will be sacked and replaced with a few games to go if we are in relegation battle?

I think it would further neuter the team offensively as it work men you had no real pace on either flank. Bruno and Zirkzee are slow and are bit going to beat a man and cross it. Tbh Fernandes is shoehorned into that position because he's the captain and United's only creative player. He also lacks the physicality to play centre midfield other than in an emergency.

Yes. Getting relegated would be catastrophic for the club. The club would throw anything they could at the situation to avoid it. Players would likely be able to leave for nothing and our revenue would take a massive hit along with our already tenuous PSR position.

If its looking like that will happen then the manager will be told to improve results any way they can or be fired.

A couple of reasons. Zirkzee doesn't press well enough for that role and isn't the quickest. We've actually tried it several times and it hasn't worked.

Out of our remaining fixtures I struggle to see where we can win games though.

Crystal Palace at home maybe and Ipswich. That takes us to 32 points which I hope is enough.

I think our results will keep us up but I have no idea what games we will win. Think its likely to be all over the shop unless we get in a couple of key reinforcements this month which is looking somewhat unlikely. A LWB is a must.
 
I couldn't care less what the players say. If their words meant anything we would have about 3 league titles and a couple of CL trophies over the past decade. They talk a good game but they need to do the talking on the pitch.
