As much as I loved him he is pretty much done. He goes back to China in January and no point investing in him. Even still he managed to bag a few goals and had the experience of playing for United.

This sums up our transfer policy to a tee spend /waste money on players who aren't good enough like Jones give him a nice big pay rise new contract he should have gone years ago like so many. Millions of pounds wasted on wages and new contracts it's a joke

We needed cover, he's providing cover. We couldn't go into the post lockdown period of 2 games a week with one striker. Now we're fortunate enough to have three until January.

Which then helps us as Ighalo is an option. People forget Cavani was a last minute gasp because of Sancho so keeping Ighalo made perfect sense at the time leading up to transfer deadline.
With diallo and pellistri now I don't think we'll be pursuing Sancho?
We have four strikers who can play as wingers plus James who has been underwhelming. If anything we need another striker to replace Ighalo, as really only Cavani is an out and out striker.
I think an area that will need investment is central midfield as apart from VDB we don't have anybody like Carrick or Scholes who can defend and pull the strings
Other than that I'm happy with the squad

I think central midfield is fine. Fred, VDB, Pogba, Fernandez, Matic. Plenty to go around plus VDB can fill any of the midfield positions. Our squad is actually very decent now. I will say the only thing it is lacking is that prime center forward. I have a feeling Cavani will be a bit like Zlatan for a season or two but maybe after that we need to look into a decent number 9.
Looking at it now Sancho would be nice but he is not 100 million nice. If he doesn't have another decent season I think his price will drop.

More than likely. Matic is fine he just cannot play week in week out. He was fantastic post Lockdown and the period just before.
Exactly also not sure on Mata contract situation he's unfortunately too slow although never been the quickest
The forgotten lingard will also probably go so I'd say definitely another CM and/or CAM will be needed
Matic is like Mata and Pogba. Players who are far too dependent on the way the opposition set up and play. They don't dictate the game, they onlt thrive when the opposition don't target their weaknesses. Matic is too slow and casual against a fast opposition. Mata is just too slow and far too lightweight period. Pogba is just a good time charlie and wants to show off all the time and 100% puts himself above the needs of the team.

Vardy is out to have a hernia op, DeBruyne is now out for 4-6 weeks and Aguera has coronavirus.
