He was unlikely to play anyway I guess given he's had no pre-season.

Exactly , but Im sure a lot were hoping for a "cameo" sub at the end.....but then being the media centric transfer its being made into, I suppose his first appearance would have to be at OT anyway (still a little disappointing though)

Yeah, I thought that was strange. Didn't think domestic bans carried over from league to league.

Fifa - Article 12

Any disciplinary sanction of up to four matches or up to three months that
has been imposed on a player by the former association but not yet (entirely)
served by the time of the transfer shall be enforced by the new association at
which the player has been registered in order for the sanction to be served
at domestic level. When issuing the ITC, the former association shall notify
the new association via TMS (for players to be registered as professionals) or
in writing (for players to be registered as amateurs) of any such disciplinary
sanction that has yet to be (entirely) served.

I think it was a surprise to a lot of people, myself included this morning. I wouldn't have expected him to start, but would have been good for the last half an hour of Sunday.

On a side note, has anybody else seen the interview on Sky Sports News with Ibrahimovic, when Geoff Shreeves said, "the word people us about you is arrogant", a very brave man

MOURINHO SAYS FELLAINI IS VITAL TO UNITED

Jose Mourinho says Marouane Fellaini is a key player for Manchester United, following the midfielder's standout display in Sunday's win over Bournemouth.

Fellaini played an important role in the 3-1 victory, as goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Vitality Stadium ensured the Reds made the perfect start to the new campaign.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, the United boss singled out Fellaini for praise, and believes fans will "love" the Belgian if he continues his fine form.

"With Fellaini I always have the feeling that he was not loved by the general Red people," Mourinho said. "But, if he plays like he’s playing now, they have to love him because he’s being so important for us."

I actually despair. If this isn't a strategy to get rid of him then Mourinho is an idiot.

Full pre-season one prem game. Fellaini looks as every bit as **** as ever, even gifting Leicester a goal in the Cs.

He's a fraud, he's all elbows, he's an absolute joke of a footballer. If he's a regular starter (Along with Rooney and Valencia) then I'm not looking forward to the next X years.

I feel like mugatu

The stupid thing is that it wasn't just poor it was embarrassingly bad. There is not controlling the ball perfectly then there is just making a complete mess of things.

Mourinho knows Rooney is ****. He has benched and dropped players he doesn't think are up to scratch at other clubs. Rooney starts and that that. Manager doesn't decide that.
