US: The Mandalorian

Not sparing any expenses with the budget by the look of it and cool to see a Krayt dragon in the flesh, even if they had to resort to the same old monster-with-impenetrable-armour trope of to deal with it.

Seems like they're going by exactly the same formula again too, which is what it is.

Excellent episode! It was great seeing the duo back, and awesome seeing the droids, the sandpeople and well the episode had great visuals! I had a smile throughout, which I cannot say any of the previous films gave me.

But was he really going to draw down on Raylan Givens though?

Ha ha, I realised as soon as I saw the walk :) Love Timothy Olyphant.

I guess I don't appreciate it as much as everyone else, as I'm not a Star Wars 'nut'. Don't get me wrong, it's a great show, production is immense, but the story is always so simple and the drama contrived. (Why did they not plant the explosives closer in and save a few more lives? Why did they not plant all the explosives?! How was having it eat the explosives not plan A?) Still, as said, it is a good show, a nice and easy watch if you just accept it. (It surprised me it's rated 14+ as honest to god, I would assume the target audience was 8 to 14... )

I think the simplicity of each episodes plot is one of its strengths. We aren’t forced into endless plot exposition every episode definitely less is more in that regard backed up with loving care and attention to every facet of production. Great show, loved the Spanish guitar as they rode into town, lovely western throwback.

Great episode. So many nods to past films in this one. Honestly had to look up who the character was at the end given you actually have to remember the prequels exist to acknowledge that.
Budget for this show is crazy, I do think that they cant do this 'episode of the week' for much longer, it would be good to get some real story driven for a few episodes at least.

Binge watched all episodes over the weekend. Very enjoyable! I like the subtle comedy aspect of it.

Very much reminds me of Fallout games. There's a min objective, but to get to it, you have to do all these local 'quests' along the way.

This is the story though, his quest to take baby species unknown back to his own race.

Yup, they’ll be several key events which happened in this episode which will tie into the overall plot. You just don’t know what that is yet and will become clear in the final episodes of the season.

Personally, I like the fact that each episode is able to stand on its own but also contribute to the whole narrative.

Decent start and Timothy Olyphant in anything is a bonus. Excited to see where this season goes with the ending of e1.

What I like the most is its a family show, the kids and wife will all watch it too. Its got that 80s/90s early saturday evening A-Team(for those old enough) vibe. :p

Great first episode, spared no expensive on the SFX on it clearly! Some scenes were incredible aka the explosion.
