Can't stand the clean look always have stubble or a short beard. Anyone used a Braun like the series 3 etc?

nope, but i got a Phillips HS8460 for christmas, and its possibly the best electric shaver i have used. (before that i hadnt used an electric shaver for years because it wouldnt cut close enough)

anyhoo. this thing is so easy to clean and its waterproof, so you can take it in the shower if you want. cleaning it is as easy as getting a sink of warm water, turn the razor on, and swirl it round in the water for 30 seconds and it comes out looking brand new. oh and also, it has a nivea gel dispenser built into the razor so it keeps your neck cool and stops razor burn or rash appearing.

Right then, after reading this thread it seems that the de razor is far superior, my skin always felt dirty with a phillishave and the fusion/azor are both a pos so thanks to you guys i've gone and ordered this lot. :D

Silvertip Badger Hair Shaving Brush Wooden Handle/Stand
Futur Safety Razor Gold
Eshave mandarin Shaving Soap
Feather New Hi-Stainless Razor Blades
Astra Superior Platinum Razor Blades
Derby Extra Razor Blades

Anything i've missed out?

I use a dry shaver.

*waves buttocks around*.

Nah seriously, I do agree with technique being very important. I can't dry shave with ease left and right to the larynx, upper lip and chin prominence so I have to finish with a razor. I've used all sorts of wet shavers and I've always felt they're roughly equal for doing the job.

You may want some pre-shave oil and some post-shave balm (make sure it's alcohol free), but see how you get on with the stuff you ordered first :)

hux I'm doing the same soon! I think that lot will do ya, you went a bit mad haha

Yeah tell me about it, i wanted the gold as it looked gorgeous and im bit of a tart anyway. ;)

Well i have some kos oil kicking about for pre shave as for post i rarely need it, my skins toughened up over the years, i have some good moisturiser should i need it anyway. :)

Anyone here shave their head as well? I like to use just oil as cream just clogs up the razor, and oil leaves your skin feeling nice and soft! Only thing is I've been using disposables as the razor gets clogged up after a couple of shaves and is pretty much dead. Any advice on good razors for shaving head?

Well i've gone and got me some, tesco had some bulldog post shave balm on offer, all natural and eight essential oils, should make my face bbs with any luck. :)

Im going to leave myself grow until it all arrives so i should be quite grizzly, question is shall i be daring and use the feather blades first. :D

I've recently got a Braun Series 3 shaver it's the first electric shaver I've bought. It is a good shaver though it doesn't shave as clean as i'd like especially at the bottom of the neck i use it when am in a rush then a DE shave normally.

Ack. Tried again, with yet more bloody results. Used a derby blade this time. Chin looks like ive fallen face first into a pile of razor wire. However, where I'm less prone to cuts and irritation, it seems to have worked pretty well, though im not sure if that's more the new cream/brush than the razor. Tried to follow those youtube tutorials closely too,but it seems to get to a certain point where it stop cutting through the hair, so then I apply pressure. It cuts the hair after that, as well as my face

>_<

I use the King of Shaves Azor, blades are about £1.25 each (packs of 4 or 8), I don't get a rash like I do with my Gillette.

Also, I wash my face first, then use King of Shaves shaving oil as the first layer, then I put of King of Shaves or Nivea (nearly said nvidia :p) gel on.

Now shave

Followed by KoS cooling balm

Can't be bothered with a Merkur, I like doing speed shaves :D
