The Matrix 4

It’s really, really bad. The few interesting ideas (re the new state of affairs in the real world) are only briefly explored and it just fails on sooo many levels.

It fails aesthetically, the cinematography looks made for TV and has no iconic shots. It fails at casting (I liked Bugs though). It fails at being meta. It fails at trying to be funny about being meta. It fails at fight choreography (although that might just be the dire camerawork). It fails at having a story that makes much sense, if any. It’s guilty of all the things it has characters clumsily preaching to the audience about. I can’t believe a certain actor actually agreed to his bit-part.

It’s all really weird and abysmal. I don’t know what Lana Wachowski was thinking. Like I get the old trilogy wasn’t the height of deep philosophy and generously borrowed ideas from lots of other films but this is just… what did I just watch that had Neo and Trinity in. It’s bizarre.

Can't even be bothered to explain why it was awful, but **** me that was ****. 2/10. Shame as it started off as though it was going down a good path, then it just got really weird, preachy, woke, no creativity at all.

Even the post credit scene is ****.

Not sure.why folks thought this would be any good, apart from the matrix they've directed **** on ****. Question is, is this Jupiter Ascending levels of bad?

Did you give it 3 for all the footage used from the original movies? :p

What a #### movie, no direction, terrible casting. It was so muddled up I spent half the time thinking about walking out then convincing myself that "it'll get good in a mo" which didn't happen.

Don't waste your money, go see something else.

:D - Pretty much!

It was basically a bad love film, and a nod to feminine power I thought. Glad I didn’t pay for it.

It was weird, disjointed, seemed like it didn't know what it wanted to be (I guess the director was truly channeling their inner self here) it had some interesting ideas, but no flow and comedic bits where it wasn't needed, sometimes becoming a parody of itself, an overall forgetable film and the worst of the 4

O.M.G.................that was really bad :(

The first part of the movie was pretty cool - Bugs watching another loop of the Matrix - really good concept, which went.........nowhere.

Then we go into Game Designer Neo - wtf? It seemed like Deadpool taking the p*ss out the production company and referencing "bullet-time", but they played this for real - i was expecting Keanu to break the 4th wall at one point and go "Woah" or something. I'm sure it sounded smart as an idea, but it did not work in the slightest!

The fight scenes - a lot of the time, the punches and kicks you could see they were just acting - nothing with force and no decent sound effects. Very strange.

Stupid cute pet robots idea - more on par with Star Wars trying to create the next Xmas toy seller.

NPH - love NPH, but miscast for this role.
Smith - very poor casting.
Morpheus - was actually pretty good.
Trinity - too old and needed a shave.
Neo - did he actually read the script? He must have been paid a **** ton of money or someone is blackmailing him to be in this. Also, when in the real world, he reminded me so much of Arnold Rimmer/Chris Barrie than the fit Keanu Reeves :(

The ending - embarrassing.

Yes the choreography for the fights particularly for Keanu was horrible, surprising as it's not like he's too old having done John Wick for 3 films.
Also
Did anybody else notice that none of the good guys die ? Even when they should have been killed when the car crashed and the "bots" were all over them, nope still alive lol

It’s okay…at best, some neat scenes but the whole films is unnecessary. T-minus 2 mins until I forgotten it already.

Sounds like it's a typical modern movie / sequel / rehash / reboot. It's a shame, but I'm not at all surprised. There is pretty much zero creativity in Hollywood these days.
