The Matrix 4

I can’t even think who she played now, it’s that forgettable
I've just finished it and also scratching my head who she was. Yeah that was a stinking pile of digital poo.

Edit - just watched the latest episode of The Expanse, laughable the difference in quality.

Could see they were trying to add this “next generation” cast to the franchise; but they were incredibly forgettable.

Gives me a greater appreciation for the trilogy seeing how poorly they did effects with 2021 technology.

the effects is laziness

for the matrix that had to invent all of this stuff so that they could make things they wanted to show
now they can just half arse it in 10 mins with some existing software and get the visuals 80-90% of the way there

One good comment I saw was that the film was the result of an AI's first attempt at churning out a film :D.
AI would probably do a good job though .....
it can already make better music than the tripe the matrix films usually contain.

could almost be a hans zimmer track

Well, now that i've slept on it I think it's worse. 2/10

I've no idea what the storyline was  did it have one?

Some humans still believe Neo is still alive and hatched a plan to bust him out. But no idea why because they have been living for 60 years in peace…

They clearly cannot and not powerful enough to defeat the machines due to pure numbers but they bust him out anyway.

Then Agent Smith turns up because of what?!

Somehow Neo’s power now shared with Trinity.

Meh, I don’t know or really care. Even the fights are no where as good as before.

However the machines are fighting each other which makes breaking him out pointless, all he managed to do although it was not covered as far as I know is kick off the human "cute" machine war again. (Cute is in IC because wtf) it was garbage, it made no sense, naiobi was right all along.

Interesting breakdown of the film, goes without saying it's very spoliery.

Yeah, that's a good video covering the ideas in the movie. I suppose the strange thing is that the main thread of the first half of the movie is a satire on modern cinema and how it continually plays the nostalgia card to repackage old movies with reboots as it's a safer way to generate profit then go with new original ideas. Then for the second half of the movie it knowingly pokes fun at itself and decends the worst trends in hollywood movies it openly mocked and criticized earlier!

Very meta! It’s almost like they intentionally made a bad movie to prove the points they were making! Unfortunately that still makes it a bad movie even if it was intentional!

What makes it even more strange some machines has switched sides and work with and for the humans.

clearly the machines are sentient with its own free will and the movie now treat them as much and they don’t want to fight them.

it makes busting him out or what he can do pointless since they are not at war anymore. There was no need except giving him/her a choice???

I was disappointed. I was hoping they would explore new sci fi themes like the holographic universe or something. There was a lot of action, but it wasn't great.

Am I the only one that thought it was good? I really enjoyed it. Cinema wasn't packed at all.

Each to their own. Never judge anyone else by their preferences but I would be interested to know why you liked it and if you were old enough to see the original at the cinema?

A mixture of covid and bad reviews is why it was probably empty.

Watched it yesterday evening.

Wanted to let it sink in a bit, initial thoughts were a 5/10. My score is even lower after doing that as so much pointless tripe in it.

2/10.

Kind of wish id not seen it now, the original trilogy was so far above this in so many ways I cant begin to list them all.

Huge disappointment. Completely missed the mark and what made the originals, well, original.
