The Matrix 4

Oh dear God. Tempus edax rerum.

Oh my. This abit embarrassing tbh.
Reeves looks like he turned up without makeup or dress department. Moss just gave up caring but is shooting a blockbuster movie.

This doesn't look anything like a Matrix film but two mates going on bike trip for milk, have they compelety dropped the Matrix look then?

First was great, 2nd had some cool action but otherwise zero tension with Neo never actually being hurt or injured, 3rd was pretty bad. 20 years later I'm not hopeful for this.

Lol, one pre production snap and the film is a write off. Amazing.

Ikr, let's be honest though, The Matrix worked all them years ago because it was fresh at the time, great CGI and stunt work.. would it be the same in todays age? I don't think so. Also, where are they going to take the story now? one of the brothers (who is now a sister) is also not working on it.

True, but everything else hasn't stood still. The Matrix had some ground breaking special and camera effects, heralding the use of bullet time and some now really janky looking face mapping stuff too. Things have moved on massively, take the Marvel films for example - apply that to the Matrix universe and I think it's still possible to make a film in that universe with the same appeal.

I imagine there will be something to do with the balancing of the equation, or a remnant/follower of Smith trying to upset the apple cart. The machines are sentient after all, so it's entirely feasible that there would be something sympathetic to Smith's cause. Or it could just be a "Harold and Kumar's trip to White Castle" yomp through the crazy world of two stoners, meh who knows. :D

I agree with the first part, hopefully it'll be something worthy!

To me their stuff screams of those bands who spend 6/7 years creating an amazing first album and then find they dont have another in them. I think they put a lot into the Matrix and they just don't have it in them to create another masterpiece like that.
As a song writer I really admire put it you gave your whole life to write your first album with zero pressure, you use all the good stuff and then you have two years to write something better with a clock ticking the whole time!

I haven't been following this but all I can say is why?

Seems like old franchises getting milked until people stop buying in to them. One more Matrix is probably okay if they don't mess it up. In the article above it mentions Spider Man and Jurassic Park new movies, lazy if anything is the answer to your question i think.
