I dont think ive heard any band heavier than these guys, music is crushing but the lyrics are just plain daft, serious christ bashers

Nightwish at their best, everything I want in a song. To me this is, well, perfection. Play loud I'll make no bones about it I'm a Nightwish (tarja era) nut.
Nightwish again, I love this track as it starts very soft, and slowly builds through a hard rock and then piles in with driving double bass peddles at the end of the song. Great music writing. If you like melodic/fantasy inspired metal this is one to check out (HD):

Anyone here a fan of Darkthrone? I'm generally a fan of Black Metal but a lot of the bands can be quite OTT, Darkthrone on the other hand are more understated in my opinion.

Might not be to everyones taste, but the ending is beautiful, gives me the 'shivers' everytime. From their album Lazarus Bird which I thoroughly recommend.
