Just bought the new Mastodon album and am really enjoying it.

Can anyone recomend some similar type of metal/heavy stuff. I mean GOOD stuff, which hits hard but doesnt involve endless solos, cheesy screams and death lyrics.

The Heavy bands I like are Isis, Mastodon, Opeth (ish), Pre black album Metallica, ****** up, Tool, SOAD.

Yep Viatrophy are awesome, I saw them at my local place about 2 yrs ago with a different lineup (one of the guitarists is now in Sylosis) and they owned the place.

I still don't know why I havent got this newest album.

Reading is quite obviously the best place for british metal, Sylosis, Exit 10, Malefice and Viatrophy

Strapping Young Lad are ******* awesome. Love? is actually one of their mellower tracks per say.

This is off the album 'Alien'
