Wikipedia says Thin Lizzy did this in early 80s with Slayer doing Thier track in the very late 80s. Who wrote the music and lyrics originally?

I've always thought it was slayer but just discovered this Thin Lizzy version today.

The two songs are completely different both musically and lyrically so no idea to question who did it originally. It's just two different songs handling the same theme.

That song is sooooooooooooooooo **** good! And Floor Jansen is absolutely mesmerizing as a singer. What a frontwoman she is for the band!

Yeah it’s a goodun for sure. Black seeds on virgin soil has one of my favourite drum intros - lord Barker at his creative best.

Not music but Devin Townsend has been using the quarantine period to start a series of podcasts looking at each of his albums in terms of the creative process and mentality behind them.
