Last year was a great year for live gigs.

I saw:

Tool
Deafheaven
Opeth
Porcupine Tree
Machine Head
(should have gone to see Meshuggah)

But this year I dont see any top bands announcing any gigs.

I thought Machinehead had broken up? I saw Opeth last year, and they were brilliant but it seemed like they cut their set 20 mins short, it was a really weird ending.

Regarding MH no, their guitarist and drummer left but they ploughed on. The Burn My Eyes 25th anniversary tour with 3/4 of the original members was excellent. They're not a patch on what they used to be sadly.

Listening to loads of Byzantine at the moment, great band.

Remember seeing a recent "opeth live" video that was 18 minutes long, 2 songs...

I love it when bands do that, I don't want 3 minute songs. Big Dream Theater fan, songs of ten minutes are regular, 15-20 mins are common and 20 mins plus aren't unknown. Their Score DVD has an encore of nearly 40 minutes...2 songs!

reminds me of Tarja (her solo career) so i like it a little, your right so, a bit soft, could have been better, a little heavier, then i think it be just like Tarja's songs how she is now
