* The Metal Thread *

The new album is awesome -

I think they went downhill after that Hate Crew Deathroll album, think that's what it was called anyway.

I've been enjoying Dimmu Borgir lately but they were another band that sort of went downhill later on, the most recent album they put out was naff and the one before it was a bit...meh.

Clean vocals and the keyboard work are both great in that song, shame the guy that does the vocals is out the band now.

Whats a metal thread without some Iron maiden eh?

I didnt know that Iron maiden were so good at football before today, they are pretty damn good!
Watch them below

Up the Irons!!

Criminal that there's no Savatage in this thread, I can't find any decent footage of original line up with Criss and John Oliva on lead guitar and lead vocals respectively. Below footage is of later lineups post Criss Olivas death, the band still features John Oliva, but on keyboards, backing vocals and guitar and several guest members along with older member Chris Caffery (lead/Rythm guitar). Criss Oliva was tragically killed in 1993 in a car accident, an amazing and very underrated guitarist, i'll continue looking for footage of him. Always loved this band and wondered why they didn't receive more attention.

I love the first 30 seconds or so of this song :P

Edit - Actually the whole song is pretty good, i'm not too keen on screaming in vocals generally though i'd prefer more clean vocals. Can anyone recommend any good metal with clean vocalists?

Amon Amarth! worth it for the intro riff alone!;) Also love the ambience and melody of the song.The windmill,synchronised headbanging at the end is a bit cheesy but hell! if you've got it shake it the **** around!:D

Quite liking the sound of this lot too,not particuarly Metal but good hard rock,Glenn Hughes,Jason Bonham and Joe Bonamassa.

Love the Amon Amarth track. makes me giggle a bit though , sounds like he,s singing.. ODIN GOD OF CHIPS?;)
