* The Metal Thread *

Been listening a lot to Despised Icon, Suffokate and Carnifex. Hopefully Carnifex will be on this years Never Say Die tour.

Hundredth this month! :D

Do you know bolt thrower, the most consistent band in death metal?

Theyve got a similar sound but way more accomplished.

Yeh, I do. I've got a couple of their albums, should listen to them a bit more really as I'm going through a stage of liking music where I can see a group of tanks rolling across a battlefield while blasting away everything in their path in my mind :p

Just discovered Amaranthe - they are supporting Kamelot on tour at the moment.

Hard to describe the sound - elements of death metal, lots of synth (perhaps too much) and and a gorgeous female vocalist.

Not sure I like the cheesy video though.

Do you think these lads have ever heard 70's era Black Sabbath?:D

Debut album just out following on from an earlier 5 track Ep release!

Saw these last night good stuff didn't realise the vocalist is a girl :D

Give me music that sounds just like that, but without the terrible, terrible, noise from the singer and I'll have found my perfect combination.

I love heavy guitars and drums, but that "singing" just annoys the hell out of me. It's getting harder finding any new bands and groups. They're either not heavy enough, or make these weird groans down the microphone. :mad:

Their song Judecca has an opening riff that resembles Decapitated's Day 69. Similar sound to Dying Fetus but without the weird name.

Lots of good riffs and drumming throughout the album though.

Saw them supporting Kamelot in London recently, was very impressed.
