The most awesome sequence(s) in games you've played

TIE Fighter,

When you're sent on a suicide mission to clear a minefield in an Interceptor
then your wing mates double cross you and attack from behind
then the freaking star destroyer opens fire (remember two hits and your dead)
then a frigate from the secret order arrives to rescue you

OH THE DRAMA:D

Also the bit where all the reinforcements arrive to help you fight the traitors and they're traitors too. :O

And.................

The bit when your in a tie defender in a wing with darth vader and you have to disable the interdictor so you can go save the emperor.

So many excellent game sequences, too hard to recall really.

Have to honourably mention Halflife, Freespace, Tie Fighter, X-Wing, WoW as have already been mentioned. I can't really think of anything thats left my jaw dropped, but theres been plenty that have left me amazed.

So many - and I'm heading out soon.....but there's at least a couple I can mention I don't think have been so far....and some others I want to mention again :)

- The rooftop chase in Dark Messiah.
- The Ravenswotsit area in HL2.
- Various parts of COD4, especially the end.
- Any number of recreations of D-Day.
- Dune 2, the final battle for any house - 1 vs 3 - epic :)
- Realms of the Haunting had amazing (for its time) FMV and story - loved that game - the entire thing was brilliant.

Actually, better go!

Might think of more later!

the part of fallout 1 where you walk through the corridor covered in flesh and you have the visions (well it tells you what you see in the text box, and they are freaking disturbing) and then you meet the master, which is disturbing. But instead of a traditional shoot him in the face boos you can talk to him and if you're good enough talk him out of his plans.

the most awesomely BAD sequence is CoD4 imo. made me cringe a little bit

Ravenholme in HL2 was awesome.

The 'beserker rage' in Doom 2, as well as the chainsaw did it for me aswell ;)

How the f... How on earth can you say that COD4 was bad without saying why?

---

Ravenholm!!!! - Oh sod it, Im installing my Steam apps again! - not bothered for a while.
And has already been mentioned... The moment youcome out of the train station at the beginning of HL2 was perhaps a defining moment in my PC gaming life... It just blew me the heck away!!! The whoel of the Anti-Citizen one level was brilliant, but I think a specific part opf that bit of the game was when you looked down off the rooftop and below you, you could see the citizens fighting the striders... Amazing.

The Omaha beach landing in MOHAA. Old hat now of course, but at the time it was pretty intense, hadn't seen anything like that before.

Same. I was shaking playing it. Crouched behind one of those anti-tank beach metal crosses thinking, Jesus Christ people actuallly did this for real? :(

my grandads brother was one of the first ones on that beach  used to love to hear the stories from him about it.

doom3 and the hellnights .

Besides all of the aforementioned stunning sequences in games, one that stands out for me was the first massive fight I was involved in on Planetside on Esamir at Ymir. I was truly blown away and don't think I've had an adrenaline rush nearing that scale since from a game. Don't think I'll ever forget it either.

(Although the Epilogue of COD4 on the hardest setting wasn't far off!)

Going back abit, they was a really good level in nolf2 that remember fondly where your fighting in a house thats been lifted by a twister and being torn apart while fighting in it. Adrenalin pumping stuff as it took a few goes to beat on hard ;)

would really like to see a nolf3 game.

Oh yeah, I remember that - fighthing ninja's in a trailer park in a tornado! That was a little bit special.

Also:
Half-Life – Surface Tension

HL2 – Dog scenes

Ep 2 – Vortal Kombat v all the antlions (the music was perfect)

Bioshock – Fort Frolic

COD4 – Rescuing the helo pilot and the last mission. That was pretty hardcore.

Ok fair enough, each to their own.

is it worth getting to the end of half life to play Ep 1 and Ep 2?

No!

HL2 was a great game and I enjoyed every moment of it, however, EP1, while I found very hard in comparison to HL2, I completed in about 10 minutes ( Slight lie - but it was over in an instant either way ).

But on a clearer note, you dont needto complete HL2 to play EP1 and EP2... Is EP2 out?

My grandfather was also there.

Never talked about it, and we never asked.

We knew... We all knew.

I guess for me it was Shenmue.

The whole jaw dropping first days play was "awesome", from the intro through to wondering around your block.

Lots of Half-Life 2 bits, mainly the general feel of it.
Crysis too, I really enyoyed the game despite what others say.
Lots of Halo too.
There's not any single points in games I can remember.
