The most awesome sequence(s) in games you've played

Thanks manic111, I hadn't even thought of the Ocarina of Time. :p So so so so so many parts of that game literally had my jaw dropped to the floor. When you first walk into Hyrule Field, taking the sword and going into the future, jumping off of the bridge into the river (WOW), putting your iron boots with your blue tunic to go to the bottom of the lake, getting on the floating leaf to go fishing, actually going fishing (was the best/only in game fishing experience I'd had), teleporting using the ocarina, ascending up the mountain and when you hurt that chicken in the village so much that you get swarmed by loads and loads of them. :D I'll stop there because I will keep on going all night. What a great, great game that was though. Oh... And how can I forget, when you're escaping the castle thinking that Ganondorf is dead, then Ganon rises from the ground and you're like "OMGWTFAIL  ". I wish I could play that game through for the first time again.

After the last test chamber in Portal, where you're standing on that platform moving slowly into a firepit, which is when the game changes from being a relativley linear puzzle game, into a fight for survival. They pulled it off brilliantly.

Another vote for MOH omaha, really was great the first time. Lots of the cradle section of thief 3 was great too.

The level in MAFIA where you blow up the hotel then escape over the rooftops and then down through the church, only to stumble upon the funeral of the rival gangster you killed in the previous mission - cue huge shootout in the church!

Intro to 'Dawn of War' bloody amazing, wish they'd release a feature length film like that....probably the only intro I sit thru everytime I play the game :)

soooo true.. go search DoW2.. there's an awesome clip of that =)

Portal end game

Bioshock at several points

^^ just all of both of those games tbh =D

Oh, and one cut scene that ALWAYS comes to mind, warcraft3 after you've completed the orc missions, o..m..g..!

EDIT: naff quality, but here you go

Now it makes sense!

I thought you'd just interrupted some random blokes funeral and Italian Americans being Italian Americans, they decided to start shooting at you...;)

A sequence I fondly remember comes from Operation Flashpoint: Red Dawn where the Soviets enact their D-Day style amphibious assault on a US defended beach. Being Flashpoint it was a somewhat tense experience (one/two shots and your a gonna) and following orders I reluctantly jumped out of my amphibious APC and followed it closely up the beach, thinking I was dead clever for using it as cover.

The APC then hit a mine and was thrown waaaay up in to the air. My last few seconds were spent looking up at the APC and then laughing my ass off as it landed on top of me, ending the mission is spectacular fashion. :D I realised the next time round that the APC was scripted to hit that mine, and I steered clear of it from then on. ;)

The part in FEAR at the start where the creepy thing walks behind stuff so you can't quite see. You then get hit over the head. Class.

Or in OpenTTD when you have just finished your network of 1,200 monorail trains and the litle window comes up saying maglev is invented!!!! :D:D:D

OMG so many of you have already put down what Id have gone for...

Certainly Turrican on the C64 then the Amiga was perhaps a mind blowing experience for sure.

More recently Quake 2 when I got my first Voodoo 1 ( Still have and it still works ) the intro to that had me hooked.

In COD4 however, just as you got into the helicopter at the start level and the intro came up like a Movie, I have not seen anyone mention this ( Sorry if I missed you ) and that came up and I jsut sat back and said.... F.... ME... WHAT A GAME!!!!

As for the Dawn Of War intro, I have to agree... They have done intros to the others but have you noticed that the original one is still the one that comes up with the end credits on the others...

The Intro to DOW2 looks cool and is much like the WarHammer Mark of Chaos one...

Sweet... Or as the word of today seems to be... AWESOME!

Cod 4 in general but the ending was pure win.

But, were'nt you gutted?

I hated it in much the same way as I loved it...

( SPOILER COMING UP )

I dont think there has ever been a game where I had loved the characters I played alongside as much as these guys and when they shot gaz, I felt a genuinne loss and it kind of destroyed me.
