I've had 12 in total over 14 years and a lot of miles but that was 3 in 1996 and the 9 over then space of 18 months a couple of years ago, I did 14 months on 9 and that wasn't a pleasant experience.
I've got 3 for totting up purposes now, 9 as far as the insurance are concerned. Doesn't seem to make much difference to the premiums.
The 9 were due in part to me covering a lot of different bits of the UK so not learning where the hotspots were (the other part is I was breaking the law and I appreciate that!). I do pretty much the same thing week in week out now, I still do a lot of miles but they're the same miles over and over again.
The worst part is I can't even vaguely legitimately moan about the first and 3rd sets of 3 as they were 40ish in 30s.. the 2nd set though.... grrrr.. some back of beyond dual carriageway somewhere near gloucester, A419 or A429, something like that.. 85 on a 70, arrow straight, middle of the day, no houses only fields, no pedestrians because there was nothing to walk to, beautiful day, camera van.. only possible justification (aside from catching people breaking the law I know) was money raising.
Gives traffic enforcement a bad name when often its entirely legitimate.
