The Ncase M1 thread

Mine is coming on Tuesday as well, I'm pleased to say. :)

If you lot could refrain from posting the actual total cost of the case that would be great :D it looks a bit easier to justify before the delivery and import fees added on!

I've got Wednesday off work so i'll be getting started then, make sure to post some pics people!.

I'll need to get some of the Noctua 15mm fans as i've got a 2080 super strix on the way now, infact i'm not even sure the gpu WILL fit.

I think i have to remove the front panel connectors.

There's a table for the v6 GPU compatibility and it says the 2080 Super Strix is compatible with notes of 'Recessed power connectors'. Assume that means some sort of low profile connectors into the graphics card that would otherwise prevent you from putting the side on the case?

I'm probably going to have a bit of a toy around with my build before I finalise it with fans. Long term, I'm waiting on slim 140mm Noctua Chromax fans (not even announced yet... could be a while) that I plan to put on either side of the C14S - I think this configuration should allow me to keep the power supply in the standard position. Going to also try mounting the PSU to the front - someone managed to put a slim 120mm fan in the gap between the motherboard tray and front of the case, which looks interesting.

I've canceled the strix, i don't need a new gpu anyway and can't be bothered with the messing about but i've now got some 15mm Noctua fans on the way that i don't need!.

How did you guys get notice of the custom's charges, email or actual post? Mine has been in customs with charges raised since Jan 1st but have not heard anything yet.

Mine was released by customs and was in Parcelforce in Coventry for a while with no updates. Then I got a letter yesterday to say it was at my local depot and needed the charges paid in order to get it.

The tracking still hasnt changed from Coventry. As soon as it gets released from customs, it should be a quick enough process.

Which method did you choose?

I chose the slowest / cheapest. I read on another forum somewhere that it doesn't seem to make any difference to the speed, which seems to be the case. I'm guessing the more expensive option might see the units be prioritised to be first out the door of the production site (Lian Li) but then they get passed onto Taiwan post, who do their own thing with them.

They're faffing around with how they release cases for sale.

They released the first half of the current batch before Christmas and told people the second half was going on sale on 1st Jan. That didn't happen. They went on sale on Saturday instead and sold out in minutes. Then there was a lot of confusion as to why they sold out so fast when it usually takes a few days to a week. Turns out there's a new plan; they're going to release each manufacturing run in small batches.

So you've only got to wait until 1st Feb. But you'll have to make sure you're ready to go at the time they're on sale. The website doesn't allocate stock until the order has been placed, so quite a few missed out this time while adding payment and shipping details...
