The nervous wait to exchange....

@~Divine~Wind~ that’s a massive list/cost/shambles so at least this wasn’t so bad!

For us, it’s all sorted not. We had a builder out to inspect and quote for the garage. It does have a lean which is what caused the concern but not an imminent threat like the survey suggested. The quote was also much more reasonable for a like for like prefab replacement vs a new brick garage they’d had quoted.

We checked all other things reported and could explain all the issues and just ignored asbestos given the age of the house so counter offered to mostly just the garage cost which is now all agreed on so hopefully that’s it and we can just let the conveyancers get their stuff sorted and let it all play out now.

@Itchytrigg aye the bloke was an absolute plum lol

Good to hear man :D

We had a similar asbestos query, corrugated roof on the garage.
He wanted thousands, very easy to seal or even remove personally as long as bagged correctly (about 50 quid for the bags) and some of the local councils will either pick it up for free or allow you to take to the local dump.
Ended up taking an offer around 5k less in the end :( didnt really want to at the time but needs must and I'm kinda glad we did now as got the mortgage sorted just before interest went nuts

And we're in :D

Did find what looks like a small pool of blood in the shed, assume it was an animal (if it's blood) so hope it's okay. Looks like the shed might have previously been used for chickens but never saw any months ago. Owners left us a lovely card a bottle of processco :). Meeting a network installer tomorrow to have a look at the runs and where best to terminate for the network cabinet (either utility room or under the stairs). One of the radiators definitely needs replacing and probably a new fridge/freezer further down the line. Can't believe we did it and considering the varying degrees of difficulty friends and family have had buying - we've been relatively lucky.

Haha we didn't get a chance to look. Ordered a ladder so should be able to look soon enough. After finding the supposed blood in the shed though......

maybe check for pentagram under the carpet.

Currently in endless wait since march for my move.

Are your new neighbors peeping toms? That is an outrageous number of upstairs windows they have facing your house lol!

That's hilarious, didn't even notice. Neighbours of 54 years introduced themselves, sweet retired couple and gave the lowdown of the nearby neighbours including a half way house (doesn't sound nearly as chaotic as the madness on the street we're moving out of).

Hahahahaha - I'm fine. Been round the house several times this week. Having a door (front) person come for measurements and a quote tomorrow, along with a carpet person. Having a bunch of small things fixed or changed before we move in.

Electrician currently in and network guy will do the terminating and finish his side of things in a couple of weeks. No creepy dolls in the loft, however, I did notice I could see a small bit of light coming through (at an angle) in the roof. That doesn't seem good? We have a roofer coming next month to fix a soffit and clear some gutters so might get him to take a look.

How much you anticipating for the front door?

They ain't cheap - that's for sure. We don't like the front door and the whole frame judders when open/closed, plus there's a crack forming along it. I've seen estimates go all the way up to £2,500 for the door, frame and fitting. Will know more from the measuring/quotation today.

Did you get a report on EMF readings locally? Thats a pretty large pylon behind your house
Yeah hard to miss :p, we're calling it our local Eiffel Tower. EMF came back fine, phone signal is good by it and we can't hear any humming (though yet to stay overnight).
